“Excellent overnight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

My wife and I stayed over for one night. The service was excellent, hospitality abundant and staff was very helpful, even advising on places to visit in Graaff-Reinet. We would definitely recommend Beau & I, even for longer stays!

Ismelda is a very friendly, elderly host. Upon arrival we got a cup of tea and chololate cake. Her caring nature, her home-made breakfast and the atmosphere at the B&B made us feel as if we were at our own grannies. But, if you're in your thirties like us, it also felt a bit out of place. So, if we were 20 years older, we would give this B&B 4 stars. The rooms itself are spacious and decorated in the same style as the rest of the house. A point of comment is the odd location of the toilet and shower in the room.

Our family stayed over for 1 night to break a long road trip. The rooms were clean, pleasant and well equipped. Imelda was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was good, although my 2 strapping lads had her back in the kitchen cooking more!

We only stayed one night here and wished we had been able to stay longer. It is an excellent B & B; the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the family delightful. We were very well looked after and the breakfast was one of the best we had on holiday.
The location is good too as you are in easy walking distance of all that one would wish to see and do in town.
Facilities are en-suite but can be a bit open plan.
Really recommend this delightful stopover.

We had a really lovely experience here. Beau and Imelde went the extra mile for us and made us feel like we were visiting an old friend. The house is a combination of burlesque boudoir and Pristine grandmother's antique home. There are pictures on the walls of their 13 children so you can imagine how well practiced they are at having guests! The bedroom was clean and comfy with attention to detail and sweet extra little touches. The bathroom was very clean. We had a superb breakfast served elegantly with many options of what to eat. Beau is a local of Graaf reinet, so he has a lot of knowledge of the area and Imelde is so generous and kind. It is well located, just a few blocks from the best restaurants. We would highly recommend this place if you are not someone who goes for very modern zen kind of places and are more interested in the real deal experience. When we left after just a one night stay, we already felt like we had been visiting friends.

Immediately upon arrival, Imelda and Beau welcomed us with tea and home made cake on their lovely verandah. They were the perfect hosts with interest in our travels and plenty of suggestions for what to see and do in and around this delightful historic town - one of the top area attraction is the Valley of Desolation: it is anything but that - a hauntingly beautiful spot to see.

The guest home is at the fringe of the town, the room was smallish but very well appointed and the breakfast was one of the best, if not the best of our month-long trip. When I was unable to get network access from my computer, Imelda graciously let me use her own computer to research and book our next night's stay. Upon Imelda's recommendation and with her doing the booking, we managed to get the last available table at the excellent nearby Polka Restaurant.

One of our most memorable B&B stays with reasonable rates on this month-long trip.

I recently took my 83-year-old mother on a road trip to Cape Town and we overnighted in beautiful Graaf-Reinet, hosted by Imelda and Beau in their delightfully homely and beautifully appointed four roomed B&B - home away from home, only with more frills! Wonderful, caring hosts, thoughtful touches, sparkling bathrooms and homely, if not luxurious, rooms. Coffee and tea in rooms and a spacious lounge area - breakfasts on request, tea on arrival, great eating-out suggestions, driveway parking, luscious secret garden - all in a very reasonable package in east walking distance from eateries and sights. A joy, and not just for the 83 year old!
