“Traditional hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012 via mobile

We were upgraded to a junior suite which was lovely, roomy & had a four poster bed.
bathroom however needed a good clean & a thorough overhaul.
Pool was lovely &we seemed to be the only ones there, we had the place to ourselves.
real fast was good but evening meal was just OK. It is however the best restaurant around apparently.
staff were friendly &helpful. Shame about the bathroom which let it down.

Hotel is frequented by busses shuttling in tourists - with all the pros and cons that come with that. Staff usually speaks English, but all-inclusive trips means no or small tips for service personnel and associated limited interests in the welfare of the clients.
Rooms are big though sparsely furnished, and at least ours were damp and smelled mouldy (surprising considering the very low humidity in the city). Most rooms have their windows only towards a courtyard, which makes a nice view but also means anyone passing outside can look in... Free Wifi is a nice plus.
Food is nothing fancy, the menu is limited and the dinner buffet fairly expensive relativ to variety and quality of the choices.

Room Tip: Get a room on the first floor and ask that it has a second window in the room itself (not just the b...

we stayed one night. The hotel is very beautiful in the public areas such as pool, lobby, reception, bar etc. Food was ok not more than that. Room are big but bathroom looks old and needs major facelift. A shampoo in the room could have helped.

We really enjoyed this hotel in the desert. It is privately-owned and idiosyncratic in its presentation and the owner has furnished the public rooms with local arts and crafts. Rooms are perfectly adequate - washbasins are made from the fossil-filled marble quarried locally. You can see it in the factory just down the road. There's a lovely courtyard swimming pool with places to sit. I'm sorry the lady from Illinois didn't like it - it isn't exactly a plastic American chain hotel, I can see it might get cold in January and there are some 'wonky' aspects to it eg uneven ground floors that flood if it rains (but they are very much in character). It was quiet, although we did hear an owl and the odd dog barking. I guess it depends what you want. We thought it was a genuine effort to give us a feel of the old ways and it was a welcome change from the modern chain or group-owned hotels we stayed in elsewhere in Morocco.

Room Tip: Different rooms available. Inspect it before you agree.

The Tizimi Hotel was quaint, cute, traditional and welcoming. There was a pool and a good bar area and plenty of seating in the interior courtyard. This hotel did feel like you really were in Morocco. The rooms at this time of the year understandably were chilly on arrival but the heating needs to turned on as soon as you hit your room and left on. There are also extra blankets if you need them. My room mate was a little bit complaining of the coolness but I didn't feel it was a problem.
Wifi signal was good in the bar and courtyard area. Lunch - we had pizza beside the pool was great. This was our base for taking a desert 4WD trip and then a camel ride up the dunes - fantastic. The rooms were roomy, tiled and there is seating outside many with a little table. In fact, there is an adundance of seating and tables all around - pool. reception, courtyard area - would be very nice in warmer months. Loved it here and stayed 2 nights. Great stay!!!!!!!

The hotel is said to be quaint, "Disney-like" in style but there's no comfort in that style. I was there Jan 23-25, 2012, the rooms had their thermostats set at 30degrees C, the rooms weren't even 50degrees F, when called about lack of heat I was told to put more clothes on. Already had a winter coat and gloves on. Room was so cold at night, I caught cold.

We spent two nights at the Kasbah Tizimi as part of an organized tour. The hotel is magical, with hidden courtyards full of vegetation (even in winter!) and lovely rooms. The hot water temperature and pressure are a little wonky, but of no consequence. The rooms are charming, spacious and beautifully decorated. It was very cold when we were there, so we asked for and received incredibly thick, soft and warm blankets. We would go back in a heartbeat.
