We found a non smoking king available for the week of July 1st through July 6th rated at a decent price, way better than surrounding hotels. We called to double check availability and was going to go ahead and reserve over the phone. The representative (Billy) quoted us a price over $100 more than what we had just looked at online he stated "you have to buy it online, I can't help you. You will get a better rate online" it was close to 1AM at this time and I was ready to get off the road. I reserved a non-smoking king online, arrived and asked to check the room out. The room was a non-smoking double, was never told at the desk our room was changed. Faint smell of smoke and the curtains hung over the a/c which caused mold spots. We went downstairs to finish our check-in and to figure out why we were not placed in a king. He stated the room we reserved was dirty and that they had nothing else available. Were told we would get an upgrade to a king suite the following morning as he would leave a note for the manager. Found the outlets hanging out of the wall, when we removed the alarm clock plug it sparked. We just wanted to get some sleep and to get our room situation taken care of in the morning.
Around 10AM I was awoken to the sound of what I thought was someone pounding on our room door, when I went to look it was housekeeping across the hall entering the room across from us. Went downstairs to speak to the manager and was told "we don't have anything ready, it's not even time to check-out" so no mention of our upgrade or any concern with what we've already had to deal with so far. We were told to wait around at the hotel. We were on a trip to visit family, not sit at the hotel.
We gave our number, went back to our room and decided to get ready and just go visit. We decided to just call at 4:30PM after not hearing from the hotel all day. Was told we were moved to a suite, we left our families house to go get moved. The suite was musty, and just felt dirty. The workers would sit right under our window (3rd floor) and smoke which just came right into the room.
There is more to this, I have not had time to contact management or corporate about our stay yet. If you need an overnight stay, I would stay. Would not stay for longer than 2 days.
The workers never seemed concerned with any of the issues we had during our stay. They were never to be found at the desk multiple times during the week. They would sit in a back office out of view.
