This is our second trip to Vanuatu, our first to Santo and to Moyyan where we stayed for 5 nights in late January 2014. I can only agree with the previous overwhelmingly positive comments about Moyyan. It is in a stunningly, beautiful location, coral literally at the shore line. The physical buildings have been built around the existing trees. As there is a maximum of 5 couples, and all the wonderful staff are genuinely positive and greet you by name as their guest, you feel as is you are joining an extended holiday family. The rooms, whilst modest, have a comfortable king size bed and sheets and linen. Food is good. Moyyan will also book day trips to the various sights on the island with quality guides. The bottom line question is; would I recommend Moyyan or come back – the answer, without a doubt is, YES.
Finally, a general comment that will hopefully assist prospective travelers. This is not, at all, a comment against Moyyan or Santo, but when I do come back I will ONLY be travelling direct to and from Australia. Do not under ANY circumstances travel by domestic air to and from Efate (Port Villa) to Santo. If coming from Sydney, there is one flight per week direct to/from Santo – or fly via Brisbane. Before booking I would suggest you email Tracey the manager for general direct flight option details and book your holiday around direct flights. With direct flights you are assured of a great holiday.
Finally, Moyyan practically supports a local primary school and they desperately need home readers. If you are a chalky, please bring in your bag any home readers your school is culling.

This was our first visit to Vanuatu. We stayed at Moyyan House by the Sea in January for our wedding anniversary after reading several reviews. We were not disappointed. The location was picture perfect. The white sand beach fringed with magnificent old overhanging trees, were the perfect beach umbrellas. The facilities offered by the resort were impressive, such as clear bottom canoes, paddle boards and mountain bikes. Every detail from picnic hampers to underwater camera hire were thought of.
We liked the fact that it was small, quiet and personnal. All the fares on the property are ideally located, all being waterfront, but we liked fare 5 best because of the extra privacy it offered. The fare was modern, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and the extra door connecting the bathroom/shower to the deck was great if you were coming in from a swim. We really liked the fact that there were plenty of power points to charge phones and ipad. The light on the mirror was also an unexpected treat.
The manager Tracy is wonderful and through her influence and expertise the resort runs like clockwork. Her warm hospitality and local knowledge were most welcoming. Catherine, assistant manager, and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We cannot speak highly enough of Tracy and her wonderful staff. They make the resort what it is.
The restaurant offered delicious meals with a dinner menu that offered variety as it rotated every couple of days. The lunch menu was most impressive too. The homemade pies and beef burger were great, not to mention the fresh bread on offer every day.
We had a wonderful time here and plan on returning in the very near future.

We have just returned home to Vila after a weekend away at Moyyan. We were there with my boyfriend's parents for two nights and we were all very sad to leave. The weather was a little uncooperative but still nice enough for us to spend a whole day snorkeling & lazing on the beach reading one of the books provided in the rooms. The bathroom was a little dark at night for makeup application but it really didn't matter. The wine list was good & the food was divine. We ate all our meals there except for lunch on one of the days & the day we ate out the food was terrible! That was ok though, we just saved our appetite for another great dinner at Moyyan. We loved the changing menu (every two days) & were lucky enough to get a different one each day we were there but even if we hadn't there was enough to have a few choices you were happy with. We enjoyed watching the crabs on the beach, especially at night. The room itself was pretty & the bed was comfortable, it was so relaxing listening to the waves & rain and as said previously a great idea to be able to access the room through your shower also. Buckets of water were also provided near the rooms & restaurant etc so you could deal with sandy feet before tracking it through the decked areas. So many little thoughtful touches. We were invited to lunch at a colleagues house & as we couldn't get to the shops, the staff happily baked a cake for us to take. Outside of Moyyan, Million dollar point is incredible, we can't wait to return & spend some more time there. We were underwhelmed by Champagne beach unfortunately but the weather was poor. Hopefully it'll be a little more impressive next time around. All in all, Tracy & all the staff were lovely & friendly & we are definitely planning a trip back, hopefully soon! Thank you

Moyyan is a beautifully designed and situated boutique resort. The way the bungalows are laid out among the incredible trees on the beach really sets this place aside from so many other beach front resorts - so special. The rooms are well designed and ours had awesome views of the water.

Tracey who managed the resort when we were there was an incredible host, and made our experience at this report really personal and unique. So much so that we almost bought a plot further down the beach!

The only things which you need to think of when booking are (and why I marked down in a few areas):
- Time of year you go as the trade winds thunder through the front of the resort at certain times of the year and while good shelters can be put up around the restaurant, the noise in our bungalow kept us awake at night, and stopped us from being able to use our balcony and hammock.
- The food at the resort is delicious - but it is also quite expensive (as is Santo in general). So if you want to be relatively conscious of how much you spend on all your food, then consider renting a scooter or car to get meals in other locations.

Just returned from several weeks in Vanuatu and have only wonderful things to say about Moyyan. It is small and intimate with beautifully designed villas (excellent use of space - dark, local wood throughout - could lie in bed and watch the waves) and a top notch restaurant. The whole place revolves around the beautiful sand beach and vista. The snorkelling is very good - we dubbed it Anemonefish Reef - with numerous bommies scattered across the sand and a great diversity of coral and fish (5 species of anemonefish!). We also enjoyed exploring the tidal pools and little island that is accessible at low tide. The pace there is perfect (especially after a wild New Year's Eve with Manager Tracy and other guests!) - just listen to the waves, take in the view, stroll the beach, read in the hammock and watch the swiftlets skirt the trees. We didn't make it to the spa this time - felt relaxed enough just being there. Staff and service were impeccable. Was a perfect, boutique spot for us between a week of diving and heading off to Tanna. We'll definitely stay there again.

This is a special place. We visited 4 islands in Vanuatu and this was absolutely the best accommodation.
The resort is small - the bungalows are all waterfront and the most luxurious you will find. Built to impeccable standards, the windows open to the entire view, the bathroom is perfect, the linens are lovely and it is spotless.
The restaurant is so good - try the Santos beef. There are complimentary bicycles - you can bike to the Blue Hole or all the way to Champagne Beach.
Tracy is your host and will book any tours you are interested in - we went scuba diving on the USS Coolidge and did a WW11 tour.
If possible, stay here!!

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

Wonderfully designed bungalows right on the beach with a beautiful view across the water from the hammock on the balcony. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The meals excellent and so nice to look over the sea and hear the waves gently lapping whilst dining. The bungalow is well designed and I loved being able to adjust the louvers to let the breeze in. Wonderful massage which was so therapeutic after a week of work. A very quiet peaceful place to relax.

Room Tip: My bungalow was at the very end so quiet and private.
