“Great location, comfy beds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We only spent one night in Uyuni after a 4-day tour coming from Tupiza, and Piedra Blanca was the perfect place to stay. It's located on the main plaza, so everything you may need like restaurants, internet cafes, the immigration office or the bus terminal is within short walking distance.

The showers were nice and hot, and the beds in the 6-bed dorm were super comfy. There's a nice common area with a TV and DVD player and plenty of lockers to store your valuables.

This hostel is right in the middle of Uyuni and close to lots of internet cafes and bank machines. It's fairly quiet and has a DVD collection if you just want to chill out, though many of them are so scratched they don't work. The staff are fairly friendly. Breakfast is pretty much just bread and jam but that's the norm for Bolivia. Showers can be cold if you get them at the wrong time. Overall, I recommend staying here, most people only stay in Uyuni one night and it's fine for this purpose.

very well located, between the two main avenues in Uyuni (potosi and ferroviária)
There you have tours agencys, money exchange, good restaurants near the hostel
quiet place, clean bathroom, hot shower, the breakfast is ok.
there's a very good pizza in the restaurant down the hostel.

Nice big room, nice bathroom (shared and private both great and really clean).... the owner is really sweet and was willing to help with everyting on the city. The breakfast is not fantastic, but it was ok since in Bolivia that's not really their specialty =p

Overall it was a nice place to stay.

We stayed for one night in a dorm for 55 Bob each. The dorm room was fine but only had one electric socket for whole room. The showers were hot and the bathroom fairly clean. Breakfast was the usual affair. We spent a night at Hotel Avenida around the corner after our salt flats tour. A little rougher around the edges but much better value at 30 bob each for a matrimonial room, with shared bathroom.

After spending 3 days/2 nights in the Salt flats, it was a welcome relief to hit civilisation. Uyuni is a small town with little to do so one night is perfect to rest and relax before carrying on your journey. The hostel itself is located centrally is certainly not cheap for Bolvianian standards but you have very little choice in the town. We opted for a double room with private bathroom for 30USD the water was hot when we took a shower. The only negative is tr private rooms are downstairs and there is a restaurant located near to the hostel which played music till quite late. But after a tiring salt flat tour I was in bed by 9pm and did not have a problem.
Owners speak english and there is dorm rooms as well as cable tv and dvd's in lounge area. No wifi though, but there is a Internet shop just across the road.

This place has decent facilities, comfortable beds, good location. Negatives was no wifi, ( nowhere really has in uyuni) showers weren't hot when I tried them, later they were but still annoying, rooms are a little noisy. I would recommend staying here after the 4x4 tour though, cos youll want a good nights sleep!
