“Terrible food - fish was not fresh”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

Not sure how this place is surviving, possibly due to tourists who come here once only like us. The place also seems to be popular with tour groups. The waiter was excellent and efficient and we asked for the fish of the day: Kingklip! We had the fish before in Swakopmund and knew how delicious it can be...if it would have been fresh. What we got served was a dry disgusting piece of fish, no flavor and obviously not fresh, possibly even from the freezer. Shame on this "sea food" restaurant which is directly situated at the jetty.

Avoid it by all means!!!

“Very slow service and overcooked seafood”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

We ate here at lunchtime and the service was diabolically slow. It took well over an hour between ordering and actually receiving our food. We ordered the mixed seafood grill and the grilled monkfish. The monkfish was badly overlooked, the calamari was tough, the prawns were badly overlooked. The two pieces of fish that were part of the fish mixed grill were cooked nicely. The chips were terrible. Only upside is it was fairly cheap. We were much more impressed by the food at the bay view hotel restaurant and would recommend you go there for dinner instead, but note that you must pre book.

“Long wait for average seafood dishes”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

Ritzis seafood restaurant, the only restaurant on the waterfront, was an experience I don't wish to have again. There was no front-of-house manager, no barman, so the poor waitresses did almost everything. We were seated reasonably fast, seeing as though you have to wait for a table to open. In total, with ordering drinks, 1 starter, 2 mains and coffees, we were there for 2.5 hours! If the food was worth the wait, I wouldn't mind or at the least inform diners that you could wait up to 40 min or more for your food.

“Pizza heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

I reviewed this restaurant 18 months ago and had an opportunity to eat there again.

I just wanted something different and ordered a pizza - wow there was so much cheese and topping that I wondered how they could make a profit on a pizza like this, I could only eat half the pizza and took the rest home in a "doggy bag".

Sitting in the deck watching the ships offloading and the activity in the small harbour is also enjoyable.

I will definitely go back probably not for pizza as my cholesterol level would go into orbit from all the cheese.
