Our trip started off a little shaky as we arrived just before nightfall and the workers had no record of our booking! It seems that head office hadn't let them know we had booked (even though we had confirmed it a few days prior) and they said they didn't have our exact tents. We were slightly worried at that stage BUT Delan (the amazing guy on site) organised for 2 tents to be made up for us - one had no lights as it had just been renovated but the boys slept in there and it was fine. So it could have been a disaster but in the end the service 100% made up for any delays in getting settled.
The camp itself is basic, but very comfortable. The toilets and shower were nice and although you share the campsite with other visitors, we only had lovely people staying nearby.
I recommend the boat ride - it's a gorgeous way to spend an afternoon.
Game drives from there are spectacular - plenty of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeasts, lechwe, impala, honeybadgers, hippos and buffalo to keep you occupied. Hyenas walk through the camp so keep an eye out - so do wild dogs. We also had a lion chasing impala about 10 metres away from us which was amazing.
Keep you food inside the tent or car because baboons WILL eat your food if it's left out!
All in all, amazing part of the world to visit.
