“Couldn't be better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

We recently stayed 2 nights at Chief's camp and had an excellent experience. The place was well run. The staff gave highly personalized attention to the guests and couldn't do enough for you.
The tents were luxurious and comfortable. Food excellent. Our guide Bensen would stop at nothing to find the game we wanted to see. He undertook a tricky drive into thick bush to see a bed of hyenas and tracked 2 lionesses to an area where 2 male lions were hiding out as he knew there would be some good action to view and indeed he was right. He had an excellent knowledge of all things safari and went out of his way to teach us. The spa was nice and I had an excellent massage. I highly recommend this camp.

By far the best game viewing of all the Sanctuary properties we visited. Good wifi connection in lodge near the main office and nice gift shop in lodge. Our guide Benson was amazing, following animal tracks - we were off road more than on the road and loving it. Including driving through very high water as the river was rising. Best experience - having our afternoon gin and tonics under a leopard lying above us on a long branch of a tree, literally less than 10 feet above our jeep. She was busy stalking her dinner from above while we munched on our treats, and when she exited the tree, we followed her as she began the hunt. Sadly, dusk took over and we had to head back to the lodge before the story was finished. A must stop on your holiday!

A three day stay was too short. We've been on other safaris, but this was the best. Evelyn Felersinger, the manager, was alert to everyone's needs and comfort. Kenosie is an exceptional guide. He amazed us with his knowledge of fauna and flora, and knew exactly where to find lions, leopards, wild dogs, and much more. He was very patient and courteous and knew how to get great photos. The meals were excellent, and the accommodation luxurious and clean. All this is amazing considering that you are living in the bush! Rob and Pauline

We had a great weekend at Chiefs Camp! The game viewing is out of this world and possibly the best we have experienced in Botswana. Our guide Ishmael was Awesome!! He had a good understanding of photography and was sensitive to the environment.

Woody, the head chef was a delight and went out of his way at every meal time! His short bread biscuits were the best.

The main building is stunning and well designed. The guest rooms were beautiful and well appointed. The only disappoint was the shower. The outside shower had potential but with low water pressure could not be enjoyed and the inside shower needed a refurb.

Kelly, our housekeeper was gem and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.
We would definitely return to Chiefs Camp.

Chief's Camp is a must do luxury safari experience. The accommodations are extraordinary -- roomy and comfortable -- and the outdoor shower (as well as an indoor one) is a treat. This is also the best game viewing we had during our nine-day safari at four different camps in Zambia and Botswana. We saw a leopard, rhino, elephants, hyena, jackal, and lion on our first game drive! Highly recommend top notch guides Sky and Thuso. Chief's also has the best bartender ever -- Percy. Thanks to the management team for taking very good care of us (Evelyn & Jeremy).

This is our second visit to Botswana but our first time at Chief's and what a great choice it was!
Everything was perfect....the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the game drives were fabulous and the food was delicious. We had made some requests about having more time on game drives and changing our eating times. Everything we requested was handled with a smile and without hesitation. We would highly recommend this camp to anyone wanting to visit the Delta. When we do return to Botswana in the future, Chief's will be one of our choices again.

This is an outstanding property! The quality of the accommodation, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the professionalism of Simon, the general manager, the expertise of the guides, the standard of the kitchen, make this an experience never to be forgotten. And yes, what everyone comes for, the game, was thrilling beyond words. A pack of 14 wild dog was a taste of things to come, an experience we will never forgot. Followed by repeated sightings of lion, large packs of hyena, magnificent landscapes and terrain. Our very knowledgeable guide, Benson, was determined to find the animals we came to see, and succeeded. I would have a hard time finding fault with Sanctuary Chiefs. All I can say, as a travel agent, with a fair amount of travel experience of my own, is that I will not hesitate to send the most discerning clients to this lodge.
