“An over-priced hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011

Spent two nights in this hotel. With about $120/night rate, it is definitely overpriced. The room is quite big, but with very simple furniture, an old-dated 20" TV and a small show/restroom, like a typical US motel room. There is a new InterContinental Hotel in Maracaibo, worth a try next time.

I cannot recommend that hotel, the rooms are old and not very clean, but at least they are big. The air condition is also very loud. Breakfast is medium. The only good thing at this hotel is the restaurant at the top level of the hotel. The food is quite good and the view is great because the restaurant is turning around and you can see the city and the lake of Maracaibo. The area of the hotel is also not the best.

Stayed there because all other hotels in Maracaibo were sold out on that day. This hotel is absolutely disgusting - i ended up paying $200 / night for their "Presidential Suite". which was huge, but absolutely disgusting.

It looked as though the bed had not been cleaned in weeks and hairs could be found on the bed sheets.

The bathroom had SEVERE, GROWING MOULD all around the bathtub and smelled horrible. If you're looking for a 70s throwback, maybe this might be the hotel for you.

Still cannot believe I paid 200 dollars for this room - what a rip off. Please do yourself a favour and never, NEVER, stay there.

I was on a business trip to Maracaibo this week. Our reservations got cancelled at the Maruma, The Lago was full so we ended up at the Best Western Paseo.
I stayed in a room on the executive floor. Rate paid was $125./night.

Room was small, outdated and smelly. Bathroom had brown, 70's style fixtures which were well worn. There was no hot water. TV is cable but no movie channels such as HBO. We got charged $50.00 for a tiny lobster casserole in the restaurant on the top floor. It consisted of a scrawny lobster tail swimming in crushed tomatoes.

We usually pay about $90. at the Maruma which is opulent in comparison to this dump.
