This is a basic clean hotel that is great for a stopover. A quick ride from the airport. They provide airport transfers. Very kind and friendly staff. Nobody here speaks english..so be prepared.
Located directly on a local beach. We arrived late and didn't leave until 1pm the next day. We spend the morning on the beach. We didn't go swimming but did enjoy the hot weather and local atmosphere. I would definetely stay here again.

We stayed at the Hotel Catimar for 1 night on each end of our 12 day holiday to Venezuela. The location is Great! It is a short 5 minute drive from the Aiport and they even provide transfers (for a nominal fee). We arrived late in the evening into the Caracas aiport and they were there waiting for us. Although, they do not speak much english they were more than willing to help you out to the best of their ability. The rooms are basic with a bed, TV, AC and bathroom. Although the rooms were not fancy they were clean, comfortable and safe. The hotel also has a restaurant attached which serves breakfast,lunch and dinner. The prices are reasonable and the food was good. I would highly reccommed this hotel if someone is looking for a overnight stay.

I had to make a short stop at Caracas because my "free" airmiles ticket through Continental Airlines changed their flight time (was supposed to arrive on a Friday 5am) and I had already purchased my outbound flight out of Caracas to Isla Margarita departing on Friday at 7.30am. I found this hotel, which seemed to be adequate for my needs, as I only needed a place to crash at night and they offered an additional service of airport pick-up. My plane was delayed so I ended up arriving 1.5 hours later, at 11.30pm at Caracas. The pick up crew was not there, there were no pay phones in the airport so I was forced to borrow a cell phone to call the hotel. They hanged up on me. Two minutes later, the crew showed up. They transported me in a truck, with 4 other men (I am a 25-year old woman...), driving like crazy (and I am Latin, it was crazy for MY standards!) until we arrived to this neighbourhood that well, was very deteriorated. I went to my room and tried to get some sleep, I had only 5 hours to rest, between the trip to-from the ariport and the delayed plane. Fine. Not really. The hotel crew had their music going off really, REALLY loud in the parking lot, which was right in front of my window. After three hours of noise, I decided to take a hot bath. There was no hot water, as the heaters were off to save energy. They told me to wait 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, the water was getting "warm", and I just decided to go for it anyway. The trip back to the airport was also insane, which I shared with a US-couple, who were terrified of his driving. All in all, next time, just spend the night at the airport and you'll be better off.
