First, when we arrived at the Best Western Puerto Viejo Airport Inn, we had to pay for our full two nights when we checked in, we couldn't keep a credit card open.
After checking in and arriving at our room, we had to put our key card in a a devise inside the fron door to allow the air conditioner and all other electric to work, we asked for an extra key card but the person at the front desk said they were out.
We took a walk by the pools, one was empty and the other two where being treated, so the sign stated, but the sign did look like it had been there for a few days. I then went to their private beach and found that there was alot of litter with a couple bags of trash under a palm tree. I also went down the following morning and the same litter and trash bags we still there. There were also savenger bird, buzzards living in the palm trees and eating the garbage on the beach. So needless to say we did not swim in the pool or stay on the beach. There is a public beach very close that looked like it was clean.
I just feel that the management really did not take care of the hotel property, being a "5" star hotel.
Even when we checked out the front desk personel were not helpful, I asked for a bell boy and they said there were none and that I could not take the baggage rack to retreive our 6 suitcases.
It could be a beautiful hotel if it was kept up, meaing don't leave roon service dished in the hallways for 24 hours, etc. I did see people cleaning the ashtrays but never did I see anyone cleaning the litter up along the beach.
