“Best in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Best basque food in Caracas, best any food in Caracas, this little place is like eating in a little sea side home in Spain. The different basque dishes any of then will leave you breathless,? The service is basically the owner sitting along and bringing you stuff as her son cooks back at the kitchen. Have no doubts this is the best meal experience in town. Not for family and very little place, reservations needed. Only one minus location, once a piece of Spain La Candelaria has become a scary place I only would recommend to go for lunch with a driver that should drop and picked you up at the restaurant door. This adventurous sort of outing just adds to the mystery and magical feeling of going for a jewel in the jungle. Remember no parking and no taxis just hire a driver to take you at specific hours. Expensive but worth it.

“still one of the best”

Old but gourgeous spanish restaurant in the Candelaria area. It has been there for years. All the menu is excellent.

“Always excelent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a kid and the food is always great. I came back after a year abroad and it remains the same. It is expensive but worth it.

“Pure Deliciousness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

First trip back to this restaurant after something like 20 years. It's a small place with no more than 20 seats, so be prepared to share a table with strangers. If you can get one, that is.
Doña Blanca and her children have been cooking up tasty food for more than four decades in this unassuming place in La Candelaria. It is an institution, and has hosted every VIP imaginable, including all Venezuelan presidents. The joke is that John Paul II couldn't get a reservation.
We were lucky that we went during the week, and managed to get a place. We ate squid, merluza and grouper (shared everything, it was all good).
It was good twenty years ago, also. Hopefully I wont wait that long to go again.
Oh, it's kind of expensive. But worth it.
