“great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

The food was amazing, served by a very welcoming and attented guest. We really enjoyed the atmosphere too,, relaxed and essential, with very nice music as background. On top of this, it' s quite off the main road and you don't feel trapped in a turistic place.

“By far the best place to eat on Easter Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I took a chance and ate here on our first night on Easter Island. It is small and off the main street, and we didn't quite know what to expect. Our host was friendly and welcoming and laid out what was on offer, as well as suggesting wines to match our food...ah, the food! Brilliant flavours, perfectly cooked seafood, the best Pad Thai my wife has ever had. The wine suggestions were spot on, matching the food so well in that way that lifts both the food and wine to new, deeper flavours.

We loved BonBon so much we booked again for our final night on the island. Sometimes you have a great experience, and when you try it again it is never as good. BonBon is an exception to that rule. On our return we were treated to some off menu selections of pork and beef, both reared on the island. Fantastic again. What flavours! What cooking! The kind of cooking that has utmost respect for the quality and origin of the ingredients. Again the wine selection by our host was the perfect match for our food.

As my title of this review says, by far the best restaurant on the island. When I remember Easter Island I think of 2 things, the Moai and Bon Bon Chinois.

“Great food, super nice owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

Went here based on tripadvisor reviews and had a great evening with wonderful food. Were the only people there until just before we left so we had the chance to talk to the owner a little and he is super nice! Food is just as great, I had the pad thai which didn't taste like most pad thais I tried in several months in Southeast Asia but was very good nonetheless. My boyfriend had the fresh tuna and loved it. Had to try the plum carrot cake for dessert, which was excellent again. Can't comment on the wine list as we only had softdrinks. Compared to most restaurants on Easter Island this place is not too pricey and well worth the money. In high season I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is quite small. Highly recommended!

“Fantastic thai food, even better service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

We stumbled upon this place by mistake while trying to find an atm late one night and when we asked the owner for directions to an atm. He offered to make us dinner and have us come back the next day to pay him. An epitome of island hospitality. Very delighted to see pad thai on the menu after a few days of nothing but empanadas, Food variety isnt too great on the island. We chatted while he created our dinner like a true gourmet chef. The food made carlos's cooking sincerety very apparent. It was delightful, everything was very fresh and flavorful. Hope he makes it california some day. -Austin & Kristin

“Wonderful hidden away find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

I stumbled upon this little restaurant on a walk from my guest house and was so glad I did. The food is amazing, the setting quiet & the owner & chef is charming and friendly. If you can find the lan airline office on the main road, it is down the cross road toward the sea a sjprt walk. Well worth it.
