“Wonderful sunset views and tasty steak!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Location is out of the way but this means the large outdoor terrace right next to the sea has a terrific unspoilt view towards the west. Can get a little breezy so bring a sweater!

While the menu is primarily seafood I had a grilled beef steak which was superb.

Service is friendly - a little slow when I visited but I think this was because a large group had just left.

“Delicious food and amazing setting to enjoy the sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Great food, my husband had the pasta marina and I ordered chicken, both dishes were very tasty. The restaurant has a great setting just by the beach and you can enjoy the waves and the sunset. This place was recommended by Paul, our tour guide and owner of Tekarera hotel, which gave us great tips to eat and enjoy the island, he actually took us and picked us up from the restaurant and we loved it, this place was perfect!

“Tataku Vave potatoes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Try this, its a fried potatoes with Shrims in a white sauce with parmesano cheese, tomatoes

If you ask from the hotel the restaurant pay the cab one round, and you need to pay only the return trip (5 dollars)
I recommend to go early (not more than 8 PM)

“Best place to unwind on a magical island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Fell in love with this place as it was recommended to us by Tea Nui's staff. Location is hidden away from the busy town center near a working pier/harbor that remains busy with small ships coming in and out delivering the day's catch. They (restaurant) will pick you up from whatever hotel you stay at and bring you to this cozy waterfront restaurant overlooking volcanic rocks and perhaps one of the most gorgeous sunsets we have seen.

The staff treated us like family from our first visit and made our kids feel special as the island breeze and gorgeous south Pacific sunsets helped us all unwind after a long day of exploring this wonderful island and it's treasures. I will say it again that the Moai's were why we came to this island but the people are what makes this place truly special.

The menu served fabulously fresh and delicious seafood dishes (my fave was their octopus and ceviche fish) and it was in fact so good that we ended up coming back here three nights in a row simply because of the people and ambiance that it became our home away from home each time we came. We loved how it was away from the busy town center and that we had the views of the bay and sunset either from indoors or from their lovely patio/ deck which of course the kids loved running in and around of. The service was fast and always attentive and the food was perfect for us each and every time.

If someday we will be lucky enough to revisit Easter Island, I hope this place will still be around with the wonderful people who make it so special and their delicious seafood dishes. Iorana to our friends at Tataku Vave!

“Great food! Great Service! Great View!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

I grew up in a tropical beach town and this is still some of the best fish I have ever had. Have your hotel call the restaurant in advance and they may even send a taxi for you gratis. The waitresses were super friendly, always had great advice on the catch of the day, always were interested in chatting. My last day on the island they even offered a free desert!

It's a small restaurant, so it's never actually crowded. The feeling is intimate. Plus you get to see the sunset over pacific as you dine (assuming you time it right).

Always get the fish. It's about 10K pesos for most of the dishes. On the island, that's a decent price.
