As a local and members of the chamber of commerce for many years, we decided to give The wasaga boston pizza a last chance in the hope it might have changed.
As expected the whole thing was a waste of time and money.
The greeter was more intent on twitter than taking us to a table. the table was greasy, the remains of some sort of sauce smeared by a hasty cleaning, when we complained we saw the reason why, an odeous cloth matted with food was used to further smear the table.
Our waitress had to finish her conversation with two other girls before she came over to take our order and seemed irritated that we had interupted her conversation. We both ordered a side salad and a pizza, we were hungry and how bad can a pizza be?
20 minutes later the side salads arrived, but no pizza, i mentioned to the waitress that these were side salads...to go on the side of the entree, a blank look was all i got. She said she would check.
Another 20 minutes, by this time we had picked through the thin fluffed tiny salads, the pizza arrived... Both were burnt under the crust and cold on top. We sat there for 10 minutes trying to attract the waitress. when she finally came to the table and we complained, she offered to reheat them in the kitchen...what about the burnt bits? she said thats part of the authentic pizza experience. I had enough, I asked for the manager, and tonight it was Sandy Smardenka. She was however busy several tables away berating the customers loudly for compaining, i'm not sure what they were complaining about, but i could hear her from half way across the restaurant. This went on for several minutes, i was sick of the whole thing and saddened that one of the few restaurants in Wasaga is so tainted. I threw down $50 bucks and we left our pizza untouched.
we will never go back!!!
I can only hope the smardenkas go broke and owners who care will take over.
