“Very convenient for Royal Welsh Showground”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Very convenient for the Showground and with adequate parking. Bar very friendly and comfortable for a get together, most people were sat outside on a beautiful evening. Room on second floor which meant quite a few stairs, as no lift, and only view from window was of chimneys and walls. That said the room was very clean and had all the facilities, Welsh tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soap, towels, etc. Room just lacked that wow extra factor but more that adequate. Staff went that extra mile by starting breakfast at 7.00am on a Saturday and serving an excellent full Welsh breakfast, very much appreciated by our party. Local Rotary Club meet in the hotel. Would happily return.

Room Tip: Remember no lift.

This is a great place to be based for exploring the area. The food is exceptional, the beer is reasonably priced and the rooms clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, Ali is a gem who is a great advert for Welsh tourism.

Room Tip: Shut the windows to avoid road noise.

V good hotel for a weekend of golf, as part of the heart of wales golf break, good sized rooms, with en suites, full Welsh breakfast, v friendly staff, evening meals plentiful, central heating too high for my choice, but u can't have everything, well stocked bar, not so when we left!

Been visiting Builth Wells many times over the years. Family live local.
When there were too many people staying with my Aunt I booked in here instead.
The room was immaculate. Very clean and tidy. Bathroom very clean as well.
I had eaten here the previous week at a buffett lunch and the food was good pub standard. I have eaten lunch time meals as well and never had a problem. The Chef knocked up some sandwichs for me as I was not getting back into the hotel until the kitchen had finished up and there were no issues with this.
Breakfast was full cooked and very nice.
The owner (Ali) is very nice and works hard. The barman is a good bloke who can have a good conversation.
If it's the weekend, the bar will be busy, but gets a good amount of people mid week as well.
Would stay again.

We stayed here for one night in March and it was very nice. The staff were friendly and the room we stayed in was huge! We ate in the restaurant which offered the usual pub grub. The chips were a little under cooked but other than that it was fine. The bar itself was heaving with locals who were all very friendly (if a little loud when leaving!) but that's what you get when staying in a pub! Breakfast; we were pretty much offered what ever we wanted and everything was cooked to order. For bed and breakfast it cost us £65 for 2 adults which wasn't too bad. Overall, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the side where the main door to the pub is as at 11/12 at night when everyone...

We stayed at The Greyhound hotel for one night and were happy with the clean and really spacious room and the friendly staff. We did not try the restaurant for dinner but the breakfast kept us full all day!
