We arrived at the hotel on Monday afternoon, in the pouring rain!! Unfortunately, they were having some minor repairs done to the driveway up to the hotel which meant we couldn't park very near to our room but this was not a real headache because the room was quite near the main car park. Check in was easy enough, and we were told to meet the restaurant manager in the main dining room to be allocated our table. This was our first visit to a Warner Leisure hotel, and we were not familiar with the drill regarding meal times, and felt it could have been explained more in the literature we received prior to our stay. Also, the main reason for our choosing this hotel was the adults only environment and felt misled by the TV adverts as only certain areas of the complex live up to this claim. We upgraded our room to a Superior Room with Luxury shower, which is something I wouldn't recommend. The room was nice, and spotlessly clean, but I felt it was not worth the extra money. Also, the extractor didn't work in the bathroom, leading to a steamy luxury shower!!
The food was absolutely fantastic, however it was let down badly by the meal time windows. Dinner is served between 1830hrs & 2000hrs, and breakfast between 0830 & 0930. So all the guests are crammed into the dining hall and have to be served in these short windows. Breakfast is also very late indeed, and on both our mornings we found ourselves just hanging around til 0830 for the restaurant to open. I would highly recommend the carvery option for dinner, as the kitchen service doesn't reall give enough food!!
Checking out was a breeze, and we found all the facilities at the hotel to be of a high standard.
So, overall we had a fantastic time, and feel that the only thing which let the hotel down was the rushed "school dinner" feel at mealtimes.
