“Lovely time...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

We have just stayed at the Gwbert Hotel. Had such a lovely stay... great food and wine. Breathtaking views of the sea - really recommend having a sea-view room. Friendly staff. But why have you painted it purple ?

Room Tip: Ask for a sea-view room - really worth the extra £10 a night - could have sat by the window all day...

My husband and I stayed for a two night break with an Amazon Voucher deal. The hotel was warm and friendly. Our room, number 3, had a spectacular sea view, £10 a night extra but worth it. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff efficient and courteous. We could not find a fault with it. The stunning location made our stay even more enjoyable with Clifftop walks just across the road. I would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Extra ten pounds for sea view well worth it. Our room, number 3, was very well appointed with new fu...

Yet again another lovely stay at the Gwbert. This hotel is fantastic for a proper 'get away from it all' weekend. We both feel so relaxed and at home here, the stresses of work literally melt away as you drive along the coast road to check-in. Our room (number 1) is excellent and has fantastic views over the sea. Because the weather went from being very, very, windy to a perfect spring day the view was a constant delight! You can even sit up in bed and watch the sea, perfect. The area is a great base for walking too although if you turn right out of the hotel and walk up towards Cardigan Island the hill is a mile long killer and not great after a full English breakfast!! Talking of food, it's still excellent. The only downside on this visit was that the restaurant service seemed a little un-organised. Previously this was one of the Flat Rocks star qualities however this time it seemed that no-one really knew their role, there was a lot of waiting between courses (both for dinner and breakfast) and at some points there wasn't anyone at all on the restaurant floor. The lady behind the bar also came and cleared tables which seemed to suggest poor management. It didn't detract from us having a lovely time as I'm sure it was just a staffing issue. However, all of staff are lovely and make you feel really at home. Thank you, we will be back again to re-charge our batteries very soon I'm sure.

Room Tip: Room number 1 has fantastic views.

We stayed here on 6th and 7th Feb 2014 on a KGB deal with two friends. We were really, really impressed with everything about this lovely hotel. If the truth be known I thought I'd booked the Cliff Hotel so was a bit apprehensive when I discovered it wasn't but I was blown away. The staff here are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. I have read a couple of the 'poor' reviews and they just go to prove that you just can't please some people. One of them said that when you get there there is just one other hotel and nothing else! Why on earth have you booked a hotel in Gwbert then you numpty? Blackpool sounds more like your thing! Anyway, we all had a great time. The rooms were lovely, some you could say were a bit small but if they were any bigger they would have stuck out of the side of the hotel! The views were amazing, it was quite stormy so the sea looked very dramatic. We used the small gym which has a running machine, cross trainer, rower and static bike as well as a jacuzzi and a sauna. It was brilliant as we were the only ones in there! Then we come to the best bit, the restaurant. The food was outstanding. We had a meal included but it was so good we ate there the next night. The breakfasts were also first class and the bacon was sooo thick, yum yum! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I don't normally bother with reviews but on this occasion I felt I had to write something so that others would be tempted to go to this great place. I'll be back!

Room Tip: Worth paying to upgrade to a sea view. Try and get room 12 or 21

I have stayed here several times on business. The hotel and rooms are clean and warm. The food in the bistro is good and the staff are helpful and welcoming. Rates are reasonable and breakfast was included.
I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a sea view.

Just spent the weekend at this hotel on the KGB deal. Really good value, lovely hotel, newly refurbished, clean, really inviting & cosy which is just what you needed, particularly as there was a raging storm outside and it never stopped raining the whole time. The staff were friendly, helpful and made you feel very welcome. The food was fantastic, especially the breakfast - more than enough to set you up for the day. We had a sea view room (No 11) which we paid an upgrade for but it was well worth it to watch the storm and the sea from the comfort of our warm room.

Room Tip: Choose Room 11 for a fantastic sea view.

Stayed 4/5 Feb on a great value voucher deal - nice sized room, clean & tidy, generous en-suite, nice food, great service and very welcoming staff who were always happy to help - tasty breakfast (great choice) and good selection for evening meals. Best of all were the amazing sea views - well worth paying room supplement could (well did actually) spend hours watching the view from room 3 - can only imagine that its even more glorious in the summer.Lovely place, wouldn't hesitate to recommend - will definitely book a return visit!
