“A truly wonderful Hebridean B and B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

After a week of pretty rigorous camping on an electricity and plumbing free Hebridean island, Pairc n t-Srath was a haven of comfort, welcome and delicious breakfasts. We wished we could have stayed far longer but one night in Lena and Richard's enchanting b&b with its beds as soft as clouds and its fantastic views over white sandy beaches was quite enough to convince us to return another day.

Room Tip: We had the one overlooking the sea and my daughter had the one below, and both were equally lovely

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful B&B where we felt very much at home with welcoming hosts Lena and Richard. Nothing was ever too much trouble and Lena's cooking was outstanding and of generous portion sizes. We enjoyed the attention to detail and ambiance created in the dining room- 5 star!!! We were fortunate to have the dining room to ourselves one night which was a very romantic experience. The view from the property is to die for, and the sunsets (we were blessed with amazing weather) were spectacular. We fell in love with Harris Island, and this gem of a B&B is the perfect base to explore it.

Terrific stay for 2 nights at this B&B. Lena and Richard could not be more welcoming, the food was great and the accommodation excellent. They even laid on great weather! Strongly recommended as abase for exploring Harris and even further afield.

So enjoyed recent stay with Lena and Richard in their beautiful home; stayed 4 nights .Lena's cooking is delicious although portion control is not in her dictionary!Felt very much at home and enjoyed hearing about the locality from our hosts, who are kept very busy with lots of interests and the croft.Twin room smallish but everything thought about and attention to detail a feature.Location is superb and easy to find sitting high above the road and overlooking the coast at Borve and Taransay, simply stunning.Would love to return.

Borve is in West Harris, half an hour from Tarbert, within a few minutes’ walk of some of the Western Isles’/Europe’s most wonderful white sandy beaches, so often unfeasibly deserted.
P n S overlooks this wonderful coastline from the hillside. Although modern, it is built in Scottish farmhouse style, traditionally furnished and immaculately clean.
Lena and Richard, not forgetting Buster the dog, offer a genuine personal welcome and are keen to make their guests’ stay a pleasant one.
Do bear in mind, if you’re contemplating staying here, that it’s a guest house, not a hotel. Although, as with a hotel, guests are free to come and go as they wish, the bedrooms have en suite showers but share a communal bath room. The TV, like the bath, is shared - in a charming and comfortable lounge. Our bed in the ground floor room was a standard size double which, as a fidget and habitual poor sleeper, I struggled with.
Lena cooks very well and the breakfasts are capable of defeating even serious appetites. She also does evening meals by request on most days.

Room Tip: As mentioned, the downstairs room has a standard size bed. Not sure about the ones upstairs.

We stayed two nights with Lena and Richard on a recent trip to the Western Isles and enjoyed a really warm welcome and excellent hospitality. The room, though small, was well-appointed and very comfortable with wonderful views over the sea and the spectacular sunsets. Nothing was too much trouble and Lena even lent us a pair of binoculars when one of our pairs had been lost. We enjoyed two of Lena's delicious dinners with very generous portions but, as others have observed, they did come at a premium price. Perhaps an option of having fewer courses at a lower price would make dining here a more acceptable and reasonable option. No criticism of the quality, though, and you certainly couldn't wish for a more friendly, helpful and generous hosts.

Stay here for the wonderful hospitality and superb cooking of Lena . We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a 9 night holiday on the Hebrides and it was a superb place to finish our trip. My Mum who does not usually enjoy eating out is still referring to the lovely dinners she had here. We hope to return.

Room Tip: Lovely views from the double at the front
