“Fantastic B and B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Made a return visit to Point cottage on March 20th for a one night stay en route to the Western Isles. Once again the welcome was friendly and relaxed from our hostess Hannah. The accommodation was charming, clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly wish for. Our room was warm and cosy and easily kept out the minus 3 degrees of cold that was outside. Breakfast offered a huge variety to choose from and was beautifully cooked and presented. The dining room was peaceful and the view from the window is incredible. We will never stay anywhere else when we are in Ullapool

Room Tip: We have now slept in two of the three rooms and they were boy Th super.

Felt like a weekend away to properly explore Ullapool and the North, it was great. Really comfortable rooms and stunning views over Loch Broom and the surrounding hills.

The owners was really friendly and helpful.

As for the breakfast, the cooked was great but the Blueberry pancakes were amazing.

Would love to come back here again.

Just rocked up en spec at this delightful cottage right on the water at Ullapool. Hannah the host was brilliant, she gave us plenty of information on the local area and where to get a good meal. The room we had was traditional, clean, cosy and with a fabulous view right onto water. It doesn't matter which room you have here as they all have water views, but the rooms at the front are slightly better as the water is closer.
Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous, I chose haddock with poached egg, (the egg was perfectly cooked). She's a fine cook!
Would recommend staying here as it is at the quieter end of where the ferry arrives/departs.
Would definitely return again.

Hannah gave us a very warm welcome and has created very comfortable accommodation for her guests. The cottage is in a marvellous situation with great views from all rooms, and the sunrises over the mountains were glorious. Breakfast was delicious and having a cafetiere in our room was a real bonus.

Room Tip: All rooms will be good.

Stayed for one night at this lovely cottage on October 16th 2012. The bedroom was well furnished and cosy, the bedding curtains and cushions were smart and all spotlessly clean. There was a great ensuite with Scottish made toiletries. Our breakfast was perfect and we were even offered fruit to take away with us on our journey. The views from our bedroom and dining room were gorgeous but probably the best bit of all was the lovely friendly welcome we received from our hostess.

We stayed here with our adult son for 2 nights. Everything was absolutely perfect and the view from the rooms is incredible. Hannah was so helpful in every way. But she went way beyond the call of duty to help us when my son got very sick the morning we had to leave. She gave us information on how to find a doctor and other B+B's to call if we had to stay in Ullapool for longer. And she let us stay past check-out time even though this must have been a huge inconvenience for her. Her kindness saved the day...

Hannah and Donald have put lots of love into this B&B. From Hannah's welcome until her goodbye, we were made to feel very comfortable in her house situated with magnificent views over Loch Broom.

Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, Point Cottage was perfect for our overnight stay as it is so close to the ferry terminal for Stornoway. The free WiFi meant that we could check the weather for our onward journey and Hannah was able to recommend a couple of places for our evening meal.

After a comfortable night's sleep we had a breakfast that was not only extremely well cooked - bacon fat crispy, sausages evenly browned, a perfect fried egg with a runny yolk - it used best quality produce and featured Hannah's home made potato scone.

We were only staying one night but the other guests were staying longer.

If you are in this area don't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Two rooms face the front of the house, one to the back. Those facing front have arguably a better v...
