“Closed and For Sale”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

I am writing this simply so that readers are not confused by a review dated January 2014 of a visit made last summer before this lovely restaurant closed and was placed on the market. I have never eaten here but Tripadvsior makes me rate it!!

“Charming Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service, great vegetarian meal at reasonable prices. They make reservations. Ask for the back room with the fireplace and if there are just two in a party, sit by a window. The chairs are very comfortable antiques and will give even more elegance to your dinner. The atmosphere is charming and traditional with low beams.

“Currently Closed!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

These premises are at present closed and it appears they are for sale or lease......a great shame given the history......we were disappointed to find it empty and looking unloved !

“Eaton Mess”

Cosy restaurant, delicious diner in the historical centre of Lacock. They served us a extraordinary desert: Eaton Mess.

“Fallen Angel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Sadly, At The Sign of the Angel closed its doors for good on Sunday (December 1st). We were there for the last supper (breakfast and lunch) which was absolutely delicious, yet the experience was tainted by the knowledge that the Angel is no more....big thank you to Lisa, Maggs and Tina who made our meals and stays there so special. Boos to George who, despite being an excellent cook, caused this magical place to close....
