“NIce seting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

nice setting in Lacock village, the gardens where we had our coffee were very nice, although the wasps did become an issue, but that's down to nature. We had two filter coffees, at £5.10 for the two, a little bit pricey but that is the price you pay in such a very busy tourist spot.

“One of the best cream teas outside Devon & Cornwall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

When in Lacock we always aim for the King John's Hunting Lodge Tea rooms, normally for the £7 cream tea or a pot of tea and cake. This time we chose the cream tea and as per usual everything was perfect. The scones were light and feathery, the home made jam nice and thick with plenty of fruit and the cream well and truly clotted.
When the weather is fine then there is no better setting than sitting in the garden of this fine establishment and taking in the delights of an English tradition.
The owner Margaret was making her rounds as usual in her own friendly manner and her staff were their normal charming selves. So if you are in the area then call in and enjoy a bit of old England before the E U bans it.

“Simply the best place for a cream tea!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

I have found it very difficult to find a tea room to compare with the charm and quality of King John's. The scones are absolutely delicious (despite what one reviewer says) they are traditional, baked on site to a special recipe and are meant to be soft, fruitless, and light. They are delicious! The staff are well trained and friendly and Margaret is an absolute legend! We had the pleasure of meeting her today. What a super character! Everything is charming from the garden setting (and inside) to the china and choice of jams (the rose jelly was delicious!) and the selection of teas and cold drinks was also impressive. I take all visiting friends here and they absolutely love the experience. A must see when in Wiltshire!

“Real homemade cakes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

Delicious blended teas and really fresh homemade cakes in lovely garden setting. Zoe, our waitress, was really friendly and efficient.
We met Margaret, the owner, who just wans people to enjoy their visit and her food.
Would definitely go back.
