“The Cafe most definitely scores a joyous 10 out of 10”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

We stayed 3 x nights at The Cafe (the name misdescribes the high quality of the food and the comfort of the accommodation) which we thoroughly enjoyed. The building is the former Manor House of the estate and holds a commanding view over the hamlet's quaint tidal harbour and the Bristol Chanel beyond.

We were in the Selworthy Suite, which has wonderful panoramic Chanel views. The room is huge - there was space to spare after accommodating a large three piece suite and a king size four poster bed! The ensuite room was almost as large and everything spotlessly clean - accommodation definitely 10 out of 10!!

Since the wet weather limited our excursions the highlight of our stay was Andrew's cooking. The quality was so good we decided to eat there every night. The added bonus is Andrew also cooks breakfast so the dining results score another joyous 10 out of 10!!

These high standards of quality are driven by the hard working, hands on owners, Andrew & Sarah. Would we stay there again - most definately! Would we strongly recommend The Cafe (what was wrong with the original name "Andrews on the Weir"??) to anyone wanting to stay somewhere clean & comfortable, with great food, in a charming unspoilt location - most definitely!

The best meal we have had for a long time and a very relaxing atmosphere. We had a great 5 course seafood menu and excellent breakfast the following morning.Service was exemplory from our Hungarian waiter who seemed to be everywhere and do everything. Our room was comfortable and clean but needed updating,We had a problem with the toilet not flushing properly, however despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely go back soon

Room Tip: Sea view is worth the extra. Check on parking. Food is magnificent, go for the suggested wines, grea...

Just had a very enjoyable Christmas lunch at The Cafe, service was excellent and the food as good, if not better than in some of the more upmarket restaurants we have had the good fortune to eat in, we could not recommend it highly enough. We were only discussing if we would come back next year. Well done to Sarah and all her very considerate staff.

We live locally and have visited the restaurant many times but have never stayed overnight before. However we took advantage of a seasonal offer and stayed on 7th December. Friendly welcome and excellent service from Gregor our Hungarian waiter. Excellent 5 course fish tasting menu. Large, comfortable, freshly decorated, spotlessly clean, sea view room with large bay window overlooking the harbour. Excellent, generous, full english breakfast in the morning followed by a stroll around the area. Absolutely lovely!
