The Bottom Ship is a charming pub in the equally charming Porlock Weir. We ate here on a weekday night in August and by 7 30 every table was full, so get there early to make sure you get a table. The bar staff were friendly, and offered local ciders and beers. The menu was slightly upmarket pub style, but not at all pretentious. 3 of the people with me had the special of the day - calf's liver with garlic mash, caramelised onion and beautifully prepared veg. I had a perfectly cooked rare ribeye steak with a healthy portion of chips. The final person in my party had a rump steak which was equally delicious. We had been walking all day and didn't need a desert, as the portion sizes were generous without being intimidating. Due to the amount of people in the pub, we had to wait about half an hours for our food, but this was not an issue as we enjoyed a couple of pints in a lovely atmosphere.
