“Christmas at Dunn's Cottage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

We had a wonderful short Christmas break staying at Dunn's Cottage. The accommodation was very clean and homely with everything we needed and much more (including some much needed duck tape for my daughter's car at one point). The log fire was amazing, warming our hearts as well as the house and providing a lovely homely atmosphere on Christmas night as we sat round opening our presents! So good we stayed an extra night!

We stayed in Quay Cottage and had a perfect holiday experience from start to finish. The cottage itself was quirky and very cosy so we felt at home straight away. The booking process was easy and efficient and small touches like milk in the fridge for when we arrived and lights on in the house to guide the way made all the difference. We'll certainly re book for another stay.

What can I say, perfection is the only word, from the stunning setting to the decor with everything you could possibly need with Caroline the most charming hostess. Porlock Weir is beautiful almost in a time warp, very quiet and unspoilt. It was lovely to sit outside at breakfast looking at the weir, then later to walk down and hardly see anybody else.It was great to to be welcomed with wine and a few goodies.Wonderful for our Beardie,Buffy who enjoyed herself on the beach with the whole area very dog friendly. The Coach House has lovely stone floors, furniture and all the finishing touches such as hairdryer, tongs and white bathrobes, and a beautiful bed.Just Fabulous

After a weekend at All Tomorrow's Parties music festival at Butlins in Minehead, this was just the sort of pampering we needed to gear up for our second weekend at Butlins! The Stable Block cottage was beautiful, cosy and full of thoughtful touches. The bed was amazing - snuggling under the fluffiest duvet to watch the TV (rising out of the bedstead) - and beyond the TV, the amazing view!!! When we could tear ourselves away from the cottage we managed some lovely walks around the surrounding countryside, but were happiest lounging around in front of the fire. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed and more! Loved it!!!

Well, all the reviews are accurate. This place was faultless. The accomodation had everything you could need gadget wise, including an I Pod dock, hairdryer and straighteners, and Sky +. A lovely touch was the bottle of wine left for us, and milk in the fridge. The best thing about the cottage was the views, especially from the bedroom. we left the doors in the bedroom open all night, and loved the sound of the waves crashing on the shore.Blue, the dog had a great time too!It was my birthday weekend, and we went for a lovely meal, a five minute walk away, at the Weir, in Millers at The Anchor. The food was tasty, and the sourroundings quirky and homely. Great base to explore from, I don't often say I will return, as like to explore, but The Stable Block ticked all boxes, and we are sure to come back.
