me and my mate were on a biking tour of scotland and stayed here for one night. parking was easy and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The food was very well presented and cooked really well, good chef i thought. The hotel residents were mostly older people 50-100 age range no louts other than us, the hotel staff were mostly young between 17 and 25 age range, nothing was too much trouble for them and to say that they were friendly and welcoming is an understatment, can't praise them enough. We had a night in the hotel bar and by time it was over we knew all the staffs names ages etc etc, and to boot half the residents too. exellent place to stay. very quiet village with outstanding views of skye, On leaving the village i had a problem with my bike, we stopped outside a house to sort the problem out and spent over an hour talking to the house owner who helped to fix the problem and gave us oil. Where else would that happen? Fantastic place, I would live here. cant fault anything at all lovely place lovely people.

A warm welcome, fast check-in.
Wide lounge and nice restaurant with a great view on Isle of Skye.
Easy to park.
Very good continental and scottish breakfast, wide choice and a very nice service.
Room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunetely we stayed in the rear with no view on the sea.
Probably with sunny weather it would be one of the best places to stay in Gairloch for longer than one night.

Spent 3 very enjoyable nights at the Myrtle Bank and was very impressed at the quality of the food both in the mornings and in the evenings.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant which has lovely views out across Gairloch bay and to northern Skye. There is plently of choice with juice, cereals, yoghurt and fruit, to be followed by the freshley cooked full highland breakfast or scrambled eggs and salmon. The quality is superb and the portions big enough to fill the heartiest of appetities - you won't be needing an early lunch!
Evening meals are served in the lounge bar, and there is plenty of choice on the menu with the emphasis on local seafood. The quality of the food is again superb at the price, and the service excellent, and as with the breakfast, the portions are very generous.
The hotel also has a public bar serving an excellent pint of Tradewinds real ale. Best enjoyed sitting in the small garden at the front of the hotel, watching the sun setting over Skye, and listening to the waves lapping and the oystercatchers calling... magical.

Stayed for 2 nights, the weather was dreadful, which only adds a special wild magic to Gairloch and the surrounding area.

This hotel was a little gem, we have stayed in Gairloch a few times before, but this was the first time at the Myrtle Bank. We will be back. It is also pet friendly and we stayed with our small dog.

Our room no.11 was a good size with a good sea view over towards the Isle of Skye.

The hotel had nice warm feel to it, the owner's and staff very friendly. The evening meal was good quality at a reasonable price, but the very large breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed the haggis and Black pudding that much, I took some home with me.
Don't tell my doctor.

The bar was used by the locals and had a good friendly atomsphere, a quick hello to Ian & Ian.

  • Liked — Good size room, comfortable beds, breakfast was excellent
  • Disliked — No easy access for people with major disabilities

Great location! Very clean and fresh everywhere! Large rooms with sea view! Very friendly staff, excellent food!

We were offered tea and homebaked scones with clotted cream and jam on arrival:-) Yummie!

Our evening dinner was excellent, and winelist very good. The hotel has a fantastic view overlooking the bay and over to Isle of Skye!!

rooms large and clean, new owners last year are bringing this hotel up to a very nice 3 star++ standard.

highly recommended! will come back!

Stayed here for two nights over the May holiday weekend. The owners have only been here for a few months, but gave an excellent welcome. We had a large family room with a sea view. Room was modern and clean and contained everything you might want including the dreaded trouser-press. The en-suite was plain, but again clean and functional with a good shower over the bath. Unforunately there was no hot water on our first morning, but this did not affect the shower as it was electric. Later there was plenty of hot water so it may have been a temporary glitch.

Breakfast was good - a buffet with fruit, cereal etc plus the usual fried options or kippers. Tried both options and they were both good, served hot and quickly. There is also an extensive evening menu. At the time we were there the hotel was between chefs,so the owners were doing the cooking, but despite that the food, though relatively unambitious, was fresh, hot and well-presented.

There is a public bar attached, though we did not try it out. The hotel also has relaxing conservatory-type lounge looking out to sea, and a good range of books and games.

Overall, very satisfactory accommodation and very good value too. Recommended.
