“The most outstanding location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

I stayed here on a work trip and found, completely by accident this little gem. The location is good close to the centre of the village and right by the water. My room was neat, tidy and well appointed with a large flat screen TV and a decent selection of channels.
The bar area is light, airy and comfortable again with an uninterrupted view over the bay. Food is also very good with a good selection of dishes and a good selection of specials. The quality of draft beer was also very good - the beer was crystal clear and chilled to perfection. I found the bar staff very friendly, attentive and willing to chat. Breakfast is also very good with a selection of cereals, yoghurt and an amazing cooked option!
I was also privileged to watch two otters playing around in the water opposite the hotel as well as a number of different seabirds and a seal - obviously the location for wildlife watchers!
Overall a good place to stay and base yourself with lots of attractions close by and some stunning views.

Room Tip: Try to book a front facing room to get an amazing view over the bay.

In July 2012 10 of us from the Highland MG Owners Club booked Sunday lunch here during pleasant road run from Achnasheen. We stayed for coffee afterwards having really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and the interest from the owner, himself a classic car enthusiast. So if you are in the Gailoch area do look out this modern hotel on the waterfront

Stayed at The Myrtle last year and was bowled over by the experience. Beginning with its idyllic location directly overlooking the bay towards the Isle of Skye; charmed by the genuine and matchless hospitality of proprietor Sean and his staff; relaxed by the warmth and ambience of the facilities (no tired or worn-out fabric or furniture here!); replete with excellent local produce from the restaurant and well-watered in the choice of tasteful bars, restful sleep is guaranteed! Breakfast is a veritable feast of choice and all served up with un-intrusive but genuinely attentive service. As a widely travelled international and UK consultant I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending that The Myrtle be your Hotel of first choice if visiting this beautiful corner of Wester Ross.

Room Tip: Sea front rooms preferable but all are comfortable and well-appointed providing everything necessary...

Exceptional experience. Very clean and contemporary family hotel, stunning location on the shore front and away from the main road. We enjoyed the spacious clean bedroom suite, with lovely sea views and large flat screen TV. Modern informal style restaurant with large picture windows providing full width views overlooking the sea. Lounge area with cosy fire is split into different seating areas and enjoys the same views. All costs for accommodation, food and drinks were very fair value and our check out bill was much less than expected. We had a lovely leisurely evening meal and the staff had an excellent manner, attentive to any request. There was a really good breakfast choice catering for all tastes. The owners made us very welcome without being intrusive. In nice weather, lunch in the front garden would be great. Definately highly recommended.

Room Tip: A front room with sea view is stunning. If you're staying a few days, the suite provides that s...

This was an excellent place to stay, the location is amazing, looking out across the sea, the staff were all very helpful, and the food was amazing. The room was great, the hotel felt relaxed, wifi was good, couple of very good real ales. The place looked cared for, which is really nice to see. I've put this on the top of my list of places to stay if I'm anywhere near this area in the future. A real find!!

We stayed here in September 2012. Having found the hotel by chance, we werent initially impressed - the outside suggests something very different from the actual experience.
The staff couldnt be more helpful. The rooms facing the front are better than those looking on the houses behind, but they are clean and well provisioned with tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits.
We had both dinner and breakfast there and the food was excellent. Portions are large, the local seafood platter was exceptional !
The sun lounge is a wonderful place to watch the sun (or rain) with a wee dram.
Really worthwhile place to stay if you are touring the highlands.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the sea (and the Isle of Skye !)
