“Good food and ale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Lovely pub food at this traditional pub, accompanied by some great ales. We were staying here on a long distance bike ride so really appreciated a good feed. Best thing was probably the service which was very attentive (without being over bearing) - a great effort considering they looked a bit short of staff when we stayed. Puddings were fantastic, esp the sticky toffee pudding.

“Great food and ale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

Popped into the Red Lion for a meal last night and a few pints. My wife and I would say that this was one of the best pub meals we have had in some time.Whilst it is not the cheapest, we don't mind when the food is as tasty and filling as we experienced. We ate in the bar which was packed and still retains that pubby atmosphere so many modern food pubs lack. The ales were well kept as normal here, the staff exceptionally polite and the fellow drinkers were really friendly. Keep up the standards please as good pubs are sorely lacking nowadays.

“Brilliant atmosphere, good value”

They just have got everything right for the kind of pub you want to go to with friends on a cold or a sunny day (very nice interior and beer garden).
