In a recent trip to North Yorkshire, this was the best of three very good B&Bs that we stayed at. Very, very welcoming - Stuart and Sandra were genuinely interested in what we were doing and made some very good suggestions and lots of useful advice. Lovely, very large room with a huge, luxurious bathroom - our room had a wonderful view up the coast to the Boulby cliffs. Attractive house. Very good breakfasts, and wonderful cakes and tea at the end of the afternoon. Staithes lacks a good beach, and so is very unspoilt compared to other villages along the coast. As a result, it's a bit thin on good places to eat but very beautiful in an unspoilt way and has an artistic tradition. It's on the Cleveland way, so lovely walks up and down the coast from the village. We'd also recommend the little-known Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum a few miles to the north.
