“Superb B&B in a lovely, non-touristy, seaside village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

In a recent trip to North Yorkshire, this was the best of three very good B&Bs that we stayed at. Very, very welcoming - Stuart and Sandra were genuinely interested in what we were doing and made some very good suggestions and lots of useful advice. Lovely, very large room with a huge, luxurious bathroom - our room had a wonderful view up the coast to the Boulby cliffs. Attractive house. Very good breakfasts, and wonderful cakes and tea at the end of the afternoon. Staithes lacks a good beach, and so is very unspoilt compared to other villages along the coast. As a result, it's a bit thin on good places to eat but very beautiful in an unspoilt way and has an artistic tradition. It's on the Cleveland way, so lovely walks up and down the coast from the village. We'd also recommend the little-known Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum a few miles to the north.

Roraima House is a beautiful B & B. Very clean. The bedrooms are loveley, expecially the one with the 4 poster bed, which we were in. A very warm welcome from Stuart & Sandra, with afternoon tea and home made cake. Excellent breakfasts. Situated in a beautiful spot, with loveley views. We will definiteley be returning there in the near future.

The Roraima is a wonderful B&B in the picturesque seaside village of Staithes. The room was a great size, spotless and really tastefully decorated with an amazing bathroom and four poster bed. Stuart and Sandra are excellent hosts, -making you feel right at home and full of great suggestions for things to do and places to eat locally.
An excellent stay, I'm sure we'll be back!

Roraima House is a wonderful B&B in the small seaside village of Staithes, home of Captain Cook, so plenty of interest for all Aussies and a great base to explore the north Yorkshire region (Whitby & York in close proximity).
Sandy & Stuart are wonderful hosts making you feel right at home and a lavish home cooked breakfast sets the scene for a big day ( ask Stuart where the sausages come from! )
Rooms are spacious, extremely comfortable, great bathroom ( lashings of hot water ) with all the modern comforts required.
Afternoon tea is served in the spacious and comfortable guests sitting room with Sandra's freshly baked offering of the day, a great way to relax with other guests and catch up on plans for the following day.
Parking is available at rear of property and even in the neighbours front driveway when it gets a bit full - testament to the village atmosphere of Staithes, and everybody does know everybody so allow sufficient time when strolling through the narrow streets by the seaside as you will be stopping regularly for a chat.
A great destination for a few days.
I will be back!

This guesthouse is one of those that the hotel industry should try to learn from. Really lovely room (4-poster bed, huge lovely bathroom and great views positioned perfect for watching the sunset), clean, comfortable and spacious.

The hosts could not have been better. They even made up for my poor packing as it was a super hot weekend and as I had forgotten sun block, Sandra even found some for us to take with us when we went for a walk from Staithes to Runswick Bay.

Breakfast was delicious, good ingredients cooked well and fresh home made granary bread. At the end of our stay, Stuart and Sandra made us feel like friends more than guests, and even gave us an "Abduck-ted" plastic bath-time duck to remind us when at the end of a hard working week, we can always find relaxation and comfort by returning to Roraima.

stayed here last weekend, probably one of the best B & Bs we have ever stayed in !! Sandra and Stuart were wonderful hosts, they even hung around after normal check in time as we had been held up on the journey. Afternoon tea and home made cakes just amazing, rooms so clean and fresh, we stayed in the top floor, so completely private, Were shown the other rooms all totally stunning especially room one. Staithes lovely quaint area - Stuart recommended the corner bistro to eat, what a great choice - very small and intimate but great fresh local food. Breakfast was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble - what an amazing find - we will be back !!!

Room Tip: top suite (if 4 of you) or room one

Lovely room, four poster bed and the best bathroom I've ever had in a hotel/b&b. Clean, spacious, great location and reasonably priced for high standard of facilities. Owners fell over themselves to be hospitable and breakfast was outstanding. Loved this place.
