Went for a 50th Wedding anniversary for my Parents and they were dissapointed to be eating in a very basic bar area with hard wooden benches, they had seen restaurant tables !
Dont believe the posh restaurant on the website !
With an extreemly overpriced A-la-carte we all chose the lunch menu. The choriso salad starter was extreemly tasty but I was not impressed at the other choices, with very small portions, good job there was plenty of bread rolls to fill up on !
I opted for the "poached seafood medley with white wine and samphire cream and cheesy mash" which was a very basic fish pie !!! seafood medley to me includes a variety of fish e.g prawns etc etc
This was white fish and a little salmon, and cheesy mash, maybe the chef forgot the cheese !
NO VEG !!!!
Come on, how much does it cost to provide a meal ! My wifes "Blue lion cottage pie with seasonal veg selection" was tough lumps of beef with piped mash, and if you call four lumps of brocolli seasonal veg, I am obviously expecting more"
With desert served on such large plates we could not fit them on the table with small portions in the middle, it was good the chef has taken time to drizzle this here and there to make them presentable. Perhaps he should concentrate on his food quantity and quality
My parents only get one 50th Anniversary and I am afraid it was wasted.
Good profit margins I expect
I went back to my parents and we had sandwiches and other nibbles to fill up !!!
As others have mentioned flies are so annoying. I know the summer has been exceptional but other restaurants cope
Sorry, very well presented good quality food, but quantity and surroundings not up to scratch.
A "sugar snap pea with a drizzle of sauce and a small stacked main course" type of place.
Sorry not again for the price
