“A great location to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

This hotel is a great place to stay in the heart of Boston. Its outside dinning area next to the river is an excellent spot to relax and watch the world go by. the staff where helpful and made us feel welcome. The room we stayed in was well maintained a very comfortable. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk to the centre of town with all the usual high street chains. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Stayed one night for a business trip. Room was on the small side and the pub across the river was loud til late making sleeping an issue for light sleepers. No bath just a walk in shower, however it was clean. The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was cooked to order rather than the usual buffet stuff. Central location was good. Overall OK for the price.

I arrived at the hotel early evening February 17th needing somewhere to stay as my mother had been admitted to the local hospital. I live in North Wales so didn't know the local area, mum was visiting my Nan in Lincolnshire at the time of the ordeal starting. I really didn't know how long Mum would be in hospital for at the time of entering the hotel and being greater by such a warm and friendly face of Jill. We had been up all night whilst Mum had been admitted to intensive care. She sorted out a room for myself and my father. The rooms were really lovely exactly what we needed even though under the circumstances we didn't get much sleep. Well over the next 17 nights a became part of the furniture. Everyone was amazing. Alan & Paula made sure I didn't have to move from my room once, which meant so much as we really didn't know where things were going with Mum. So I checked out on th 6th March. My mum is still in hospital having been transferred closer to her home in Yorkshire almost 4 months since the nightmare began. I hope one day mum will be well enough to return to the hotel with me so she can see how wonderful the place & people truly are. I would have ne hesitation recommending this hotel. I would have been lost without them. They all asked every day how things were, could they get me a taxi, was there anything I needed. Nothing was too much trouble. I'm sorry it's take so long but I my Auntie & a close friend have died recently and my free time has been up and down to see mum.

We stayed one night, having booked & paid in advance. On arrival we were informed they were short staffed (it was a Sunday), as many were on a "training course".
There was a convenient free car park at the rear of the hotel and check in was easy enough. We were offered help with our bags if needed.
The room was located overlooking the courtyard with no view to speak of. Only Executive rooms seemed to have river views. The room was spacious with an excellent shower room, flat screen, large sofa and a refreshment tray TV. Free wifi was included, The room was clean and comfortable.
We were later advised that if we wanted dinner, we would have to take it by 6.00pm as the evening chef hadn't turned in and the day chef had to go home! We accepted this and had the Sunday lunch option which was fine. Despite only two staff being visible, the service was good.
The included breakfast next morning was also quite acceptable, though once again a scarcity of staff was apparent.
The hotel is an old building with plenty of character, though the rooms have been modernised.
Some carpeting looked rather stained / worn in passageways, but the reception and bar areas had plenty of comfortable seating.
The (minimal) staff were very pleasant and provided good service during our stay.

Room Tip: Pay for an Executive room for best views

Friendly staff, passed a lot of time sitting on the comfy sofas in the bar, great quality room, food good standard. Easily accessible from car park, Sat Nav helps with finding the carpark, but less noise pollution due to being tucked away. Will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: Executive room was very spacious.

Had trouble finding the car park, which has a separate post code from the hotel. You then have to leave your car in a clamping area. At the hotel you have to push a button and wait to be let in, find reception to get a parking pass, go back to the car and put your details on the pass. Then repeat the whole process of getting in the hotel. Imagine if it is raining, snowing, or windy. By the way the car park is unsurfaced !! Don't wear your best shoes.
The meal was adequate but the portion of sea bass was very small with a large amount of veg. Ham and eggs was reasonable.

Stayed for one night in the hotel. Convenient car park at the back and efficient staff. The Superior room was spacious and had all cons needed, however décor was a little dated but quite normal for the Best Western hotels I have stayed in previously. The staff at reception and girl on breakfast were very friendly, informative and efficient. Did not eat at the hotel as they had a function on and restaurant was closed, however bar food was on. The location of the hotel is convenient being in the centre of Boston just next to the river. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so plenty of stairs and corridors to reach it, view overlooking the car park and local supermarket. Value of the stay was average compared to other rates. We would stop here again if in Boston.
