Our visit started with The friendliest of owners (Steve and Sue) providing afternoon tea served in the large guests lounge- Crumpets, scones, clotted cream & strawberries from the local farm, just the ticket after a three hour drive and delicious too.
Steve and Sue are "Bomber" fanatics, and are involved with the Battle of Britain memorial flight at RAF Conningsby. Steve is ex RAF, and the guests lounge is full of books, photos and paintings about airplanes and the RAF making this the ideal staying place if you are planning a trip to Conningsby or Lincolnshire aviation heritage centre at E.Kirkby. They often have WW2 veterans staying here.
The theme continues through the house with the guest bedrooms being named after WW2 bombers. We stayed in the Lancaster room at the front of the house which has a lovely view of the fields to the side of the house.
The Lancaster room is a large, very clean room with comfy bed, modern TV, tea & coffee facilities and a small box of biscuits in the room. It has a large en-suite with double vanity unit, shower and a separate bath. Steve & Sue are only too happy to oblige with anything to make your stay comfortable, and are very knowledgeable about the local area and can recommend good pubs and restaurants to you.
Breakfast was served in the guests dining room and has a good selection of cereals and breakfast menu. The full English was lovely.
Price is very reasonable for what is offered and will definitely stay here again.
