“Very Enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Friendly staff, clean boat and the price of drinks and cakes was very reasonable when compared to local cafe's A coke for £1.20 isn't bad at all. I did the Sunday afternoon 3pm cruise which takes 1 1/2 hours and goes up river to Witham bridge. If you just want a lazy Sunday afternoon then this could be for you. The views of Boston Stump from the rear of the boat as you pull away from the town, are some of the best you can get. I marked it 4 instead of 5 stars because of the limited space on the front of the boat which may be an issue if the boat is at capacity.

“A little expensive for what it is actually is”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

There are a number of diffrent 'cruises' that you can opt from. I was on the 'Sunday afternoon lunch trip' which was around three hours approximately.

You sail at around 6 knots up the river, before turning around to make the return trip.

A cold bufffet with a selection of cold meats and salads is on offer with a choice of sweets. There is a bar on board but the prices are a little on the high side at £1,30 for a cup of tea.

There is no on board commentry, so it was difficukt to know exactly where you were at any point in the journey and very little to see. High river banks either side hid what ever may of been on view, and all you really get to see are the cows grazing precariously along the river bank.

Whist wheelchair access is provided, the space is limited and there is no way that a wheek chair user could use the very small on board toilet. In fact anyone with mobility problems will find using the on board toilet a problem.

There are notices stating that the vessel can carry up to 60 persons. I would find this rather disconcerting to be honest and would not feel safe with so many people on such a relatively small boat.

Its a nice way to spend a sunday afternnoon eating, but with nothing to do on the return trip, a little boring to be honest.

This is a trip that I would not consider doing agin in the future.

“Relaxing way to spend an afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

We've been on the boat a few times, and as we had friends over for lunch on Sunday thought we'd have a trip, which I think was the last one of the season. As usual, very pleasant and welcoming crew and a smashing way to spend an hour and a half. Hoping to do the sea trip next year (and said THAT last year!) Parking was okay as it was a quiet Sunday afternoon but I know it is more difficult in the summer. We had a brew on board as we tootled up to Langrick bridge and back.

“relaxing and pleasanrt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

It was an idyll to be taken through pleasant countryside , in the sunshine, in a boat watching the world go away at a slower rate of knots. We did the slightly longer afternoon trip of about 1 1/2 hours. Food and drinks on board, there is no commentary so it is nice and peaceful. Parking is very limited,We parked in the Witham Pub at the end of street, had a very good , well priced meal , a traditional ale and the landlady said it would be okay to leave our cars in her car park. The pub is well worth a visit, an echo from the former glory days of river. I would recommend this boat trip.

“Lazy Sunday afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2011

Timo 35 must have taken a different trip to us as our experience was QUITE the opposite! Staff were very polite and friendly, the boat was clean and soft drinks were the price one expects to pay.

We were privileged to watch some Dragon Boat races on the day we went, otherwise the trip could perhaps be a little boring. We plan to take the trip out to sea next time which will be much more interesting I think.

Take warm clothing, even in summer, and a camera.

PS Timo 35 - You mean 'have' when you write 'of'' and 'too' when you write 'to'! Back to school for you!
