“A unique gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

We stayed at the caravan site over the Bank Holiday weekend, and visited the Museum which was absolutely fabulous.
A unique collection of bubble cars and microcars, together with period memorabilia which took us back to our childhood days. We ended the visit with coffee and delicious ginger and buttercream cake.

“Top bubble”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

I went to the bubble car museum last year and as soon as they advertised they were open this year, i booked the family in for a day trip. The weather has taken a turn for the better and so has the museum. They appear to have some new and interesting vehicles but one thing that has stayed the same is the high quality of food and value for money. The welcome is warm and the price is reasonable. There is no time constraint and the staff are more than happy to answer questions. A really pleasant day out. We are looking forward to booking camping in the summer.

“One for the "Baby Boomers"!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

This small, unique, little museum is at Clover Farm which is also a small, highly rated Camping & Caravanning Club Certificated Site.

There are around 50 microcars, mainly from the 50s and 60s, displayed alongside various display cabinets of memorabilia and room reconstructions of this era.

Featured cars include, obviously, the iconic "cuddly" bubble cars, alarming sounding German Messerschmitt models, a "Meadows Frisky"!, Bond cars (not the "James" variety), German Goggomobil, a Scootacar, Fiats, a Heinkel Trojan plus Trabant from various European countries. There is a 1950s sitting room & kitchen, a garage and even frontages of a French hotel, Boulangerie & Cafe. Plus a "picnic site" as people actually used these tiny cars to transport equally tiny foldable caravans and go off camping. There is also a range of scooters, sort of motorcycle vans and even a Hovercraft.

In the same building is a cafe and gift shop where they sell their own bottles of cider alongside other "Bubble Car" themed souvenirs. The cafe is remarkably cheap and sells a variety of homemade fare.

We "Baby Boomers" took our two grandsons along who were almost as interested as we were in it all! Not a place to spend a vast amount of time but at £8 entry for the four of us (and the excellent booklet/brochure detailing all the exhibits is only £1), good value nonetheless. Highly recommended!

“Excellent value in any weather”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

A museum full of the history and quirky vehicles known to many as bubble cars and a lot more. A morning or afternoon can easily be spent browsing through the indoor exhibition. Great value and homemade food/cakes at the tea shop. Would visit again.
