“Avoid the motel bit”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

This seems to be a hotel of two halves, one is for the man building that seems pleasant enough but I have to say I was very disappointed with the half I stayed in. Very steep stairs to a narrow landing all a bit scruffy and, whilst the room was spotlessly clean it was very 1980's. The showers was pathetic, little more than a dribble.
With a brand new Travelodge round the corner with great showers etc for half the price I think you need to spend a bit or close this part of the hotel as it lets the rest of the place down.
No wonder the receptionist didn't ask how the room was, she knew!

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel, refuse the motel if you want a good shower

Excellent hotel.
Good prompt service with a smile. Location excellent as in the middle of town-walk out the door and you are in the town . Restaurant facilities clean, well set out. Food presentation outstanding. Menu choices varied.

This was our first ever visit to Market Harborough but it wont be our last - we just loved the town and this Hotel was ideal being central to shops and amenities. Our room was an executive room above the conference centre - it was spacious smart and clean. Loved the deep bath, great shower and fluffy towels. All good. Just of note though - check if any party is to be held the nights you stay as can be loud if so. The hotel was charming. The staff great and the food was so good and great value so we ate twice in the conservatory and once in the restaurant. Usually would try different places but the food was faultless so why bother! Little niggles re our room were rectified immediately. Perhaps my tip would be to stay in the more modern rooms. We were shown the four poster bedroom and i would say it did look a little tired - felt the older part of the hotel needed a bit of tlc perhaps. For a character hotel in a lovely place this is perfect. p.s. All the locals were great - friendly and helpful. Try Joules eating house when a band is on one summer evening - eccentric but fun! Will def go back to this hotel again.

Booked online, for a 1 night stay to visit family nearby. We prefer king beds and the website was not clear on the bed size so we booked a twin bed room. It was very good value with breakfast (very good) included, and we paid up front to take advantage of the cheaper deal with no free cancellation possible.
When we arrived we had a tasty lunch in the Conservatory, then checked in with no problems. The room was clean and comfortable, and despite it being the Sunday before a Bank Holiday, it was very quiet overnight. One negative was that the pillows were a little hard for me, but a plus was that the bathroom had big towels and a good selection of shower, hair and other useful items. The only other problem was a metal sink tap that had a tiny spur on metal just where the hand needs to turn the tap. I reported it the next morning and the receptionist immediately wrote it in the maintenance book.
This is certainly a hotel that it a good place to stay for one night. We would use it again.

We stayed here last year, and returned for a company retirees weekend. We found everything about this hotel to be absolutely first class. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. All members of staff were very attentive and any request was taken care of.The breakfast was to die for, other meals we took in the Hotel were just as good. The car park appeared to be full when we arrived, but there is extra parking space. Drive thro the arch opposite the door to reception, you will see signs for extra parking, plenty of space and its only a few yards to walk back to reception.

Lovely friendly staff, a sunny courtyard bordered by lovely flower boxes and you get the perfect venue for a relaxed Bank Holiday lunch. The menu was interesting and the dishes we chose were tasty and beautifully presented.

Room Tip: We only went for coffee, and later a meal.
