“Oozes class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2009

Stayed at Lavinia's wonderful home-from-home 'B & B' for 3 nights 14th - 17th September. It was my 'better-half's' 2nd visit here but I was to be totally delighted by the room (a downstairs one with it's own terrace-decking), the welcome from our hostess (cheery & friendly Lavinia), the food (non-greasy, perfectly executed full-English) and the terrific expansive sea-view. Blessed by good weather this was as near to the perfect break as could be hoped for. Thoroughly & highly recommended.

We had a great weekend in the Garnet room in September. I am more used to the facilities of a hotel but the room was much nicer than many hotels I have stayed in, its not huge but has all you need and is well presented.

Lavinia is a great host and provided lots on information on places to eat before we arrived. We had a couple of great meals at the Harbour in on the seafront, it looks basic but the service was great and the food good value and well presented. Do book, it gets very busy.

Stayed in the Topaz room for 2 nights 25 & 26 September. All the rooms were occupied (7or 8 I think). The standard of furnishing is very high and it is light, bright and very tasteful. 10 out of 10 for this. Breakfast is very good, served in the dining room / conservatory. Hot breakfast cooked to order and help your selves to fresh fruit salad, cereals, juice. Plentiful toast, and tea/ coffee.
Very helpful information provided by email when booking.
Ate in Sotano's which was recommended - great food.
If you dont want to walk back up the hill then a taxi (at the bottom by the clock) is £3.50. There is also a bus which runs at 20 to the hour until late. It stops just behind the house at the Mariners Hotel.
Parking is a bit tight but that is how it is in Lyme Regis but it wasnt a problem for us. There are 2 car park areas on site.
Would return without hesitation.

We stayed at the Westwood for two nights over the Bank Holiday Weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, Lavinia the owner, is marvellous, she has got everything absolutley spot on. The house is beautifully decorated throughout and the rooms are very comfortable with every need catered for. The breakfast is also very good and nothing is too much trouble. I will be recommending the Westwood to freinds and we will definitely be staying there on our next visit to Lyme. Thank you very much Lavinia it was a pleasure to stay here.

A wonderful two-night stay, we were well looked after, and the room was more than you could wish for. Very comfortable and quiet, with an easy going atmosphere in the whole of the house. Nothing was too much trouble for our host, Lavinia. Thank-you, we will return.

From the moment I came across the website the Westwood Guest House communicated class.

We were not disappointed. From the booking & communications about our stay from our host (Lavinia), to the arrival, stay & departure it was all effortless & troublefree thanks to Lavinia's organisation & care for her guests - really like a home from home.

The decor is excellent, the bed comfortable, the shower strong & cleansing - all aspects of the stay were excellent which included the delicious breakfast. The Westwood is situated just far enough out of central Lyme Regis (a pleasant ten minute walk) to avoid the noise of summer partying. Highly recommended.

Thouroughly enjoyed our recent stay, Lavinia is the ideal host and we couldn't fault breakfast or wonderfully decorated house. Plenty of TV channels and free, no nonsense, wifi.
Lovely walk into town along river/mill stream, hardly any road walking between house and sea front. Looking forward to another visit soon.
