This is a wonderful museum, clearly made with love, passion and knowledge. It has an amazing collection of fossils and no visitor of Lyme Regis should miss it!

“Traditional old museum, that smells old and musty. That said, we thought it was worth our support.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

The question sheet makes this museum as you really have to dig to find the answers (no pun intended). However bear in mind some of artefacts have seen better days and a lottery grant would really turn the place around. The best thing by far is the enthusiasm the museum owner gives the children when they hand in the sheet at the end, he really inspires with his love of the subject. All children win a little prize which is great and our son spoke about the visit long after we'd left.

“Enter the Tardis!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We visited Dinosaurland with some trepidation as we have been caught out by these type of small attractions before. We needn't have worried as this one turned out to be first class and much more to see than expected - being in several rooms and on 2 floors. Many exhibits and realistically priced - all the family will love it!

“A proper museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

We all love this museum -especially our 4 year old daughter. This is a traditional museum which relies on a wonderful collection and great descriptions to enthrall visitors. The fossils are incredible, and the natural history collection is a real bonus. It is lovely to see the museum owner who has compiled the collection in the shop (which is our favourite stone and fossil shop in Lyme Regis) every day, sharing his enthusiasm. Don't leave it for a wet day, go when it's dry outside and less busy inside!

“Great for young paleontologists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

This is a great little museum if you have smaller kids that love all things dinosaur. But you will be disappointed if you are expecting digital displays and interactive exhibits. The kids were given a question sheet and spent about an hour hunting down the answers. Not all the answers were easy to find which meant a certain amount of interaction with parents (a good thing) and most were buried in the middle of paragraphs of information, forcing the kids to read (even better). As an adult, I could have easily spent much longer there.
