“You gotta go! Unbelievably great sandwiches!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

The Whole Hog is a tiny hole in the wall operation run by a brother and sister. They produce food from local sources which is simply fantastic.

There is a limited range but if you fancy a hearty lunch for about £4.50 per person, this is for you.

We both had the full experience "The Whole Hog" - roast pork & all the trimmings (including crackling, gravy & apple sauce) in a fresh roll. Then we walked only fifty meters to sit on the stony beach watching the sea while eating it. The only issue were the aerial attacks from the seagulls who are clearly well aware of how fabulous these sandwiches are.

The only issue is that it's not open year round so if you go to Lyme Regis in the winter you might be unlucky .

In short you simply have to try this.

“Best hot roast sandwiches ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We visit Lyme often and always hope The Whole Hog is open (it closes for some weeks off season). The roast pork or chicken is cooked fresh on the premises and served with all the appropriate trimmings-crackling,stuffing, apple sauce, caramelised onions etc. all in a huge soft white bap. Filling and very tasty. Cold drinks and coffees also available. The young couple who own the place are charming. Go early though before they sell out. They used to do fabulous breakfast baps whilst the roasts were cooking - filled with hash browns, bacon and egg. We wish they would bring them back! Only downside was they were so filling we may not have had room for their roast baps at lunchtime;)

“Would come here again when back in Lyme”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Having gone to a number of restaurants and cafes in Lyme while visiting after Christmas, this place was probably the one that (perhaps surprisingly) we were most satisfied with. Simple and good value, you can get a carved roast pork or roast chicken sandwich in a white bun, and they come with a number of extras such as crackling, stuffing, onions, apple sauce and gravy. We felt the pork pipped the chicken but both were very tasty and much appreciated on a rainy wintery day.

“Fab but open longer hrs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012 via mobile

Simply fab but please open longer hours 10.30 to start is ok but very often sold out by 1pm. I am sure locals would support you more if you remained serving longer into the day.
