“Excellent location,food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We ate here on the Saturday evening before Christmas and had a great meal.
Portion sizes were excellent and all 3 courses of food we had was of a hreat quality aswell.
Staff were very helpful and there was enough staff on hand to proivde a great service.
£50 a head plus wine is what we expected to pay and it was well worth the money - up there with some of theplaces we eat in London on a regular basis.
Although it wasn't full, the restaurant did get a little bit warm even with the front door open but other than that we couldn't fault the place at all.
Will definitely go back if we are in the area and will make sure we go in the daytime when it is light so we can experience the amazing views to be had from its location.

“Perfect location - hit & miss food...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The idillic seafood restaurant for people visiting Lyme - perched on a cliff-top with beautiful large windows and views over Lyme Bay. Visited a few times for lunch... Food can be excellent or can miss the mark. Last time fish & chips were delicious and fresh, yet other dishes weren't quite as good. Prices quite high.

“Excellent All round Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

Went here for lunch for my wife's birthday. Booked on line no problem at all and easy to navigate website.
Very quiet being a Tuesday afternoon, we were escorted to a table right at the front with a magnificent panoramic view of The Cobb and Lyme Bay.
Order for drinks and food taken by 2 different members of staff one male, one female both extremely polite and attentive.
Rose for the wife a pear cider for me served in a rustic cup very nice.
During the week Monday to Friday you can order 2 courses for £17.00 or 3 courses for £21.00 from a set menu. Which is excellent value.
We both had excellent meals from the starter to the sweet and cheese,
All well cooked and presented, the chef had even put Happy Birthday on the wife's sweet plate as I had told them it was her birthday when I booked.
A very nice touch and shows they had read what I had put when I booked.
This was our second visit to this restaurant and we loved it from starter to finish.
If you complain about the prices, you should go elsewhere. It is an excellent place with a stunning vista excellent food and service.

“Haa! haa!, ever get the feeling you've been cheated?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

Says it all really, poor service, food ok but not exemplary and with faults (raw (not pink) offal confirmed by chef), food not delivered together, long wait between courses.

Lacking attention to detail and the customer experience, the basics just aren't in place. To top it all off I only noticed they'd added a 10% "discretionary" service charge once I had left and checked the bill. To me any place that feels they need to sneak a service charge in knows that their service isn't up to scratch.

“Fantastic dining experience on the kitchen table”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Lovely restaurant with staff that knows what they`re doing. If you have an opportunity to dine on the kitchen table do it. Chefs are very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge with you in a very informal and relaxed way. The food is fresh and fantastic! We got a chance to try their own smoked salmon given to as as a free starter. I fell in love in the Hix Fix Cherry Cocktail and really regret that I didn`t buy those cherries to take away. In terms of those negative comments about the price - do not listen. It was probably people who are used to eat in pubs since portions are big, fish fresh and cooked to perfection. Price is absolutely appropriate for quality of meals. We loved the food, atmosphere and the service - 5/5 :)
