Came along one Sunday morning while staying with my cousin who lives close by. Friendly inclusive church. Apparently late nineteenth century but with a bit of history. An allied pilot killed himself when he failed to avoid the tower on taking off or landing at the wartime Harrowbeer aerodrome during WWII and I am not sure whether that was before or after a number of local buildings including shops and the church tower were lower for safety. There are several websites offering personal memories and histories of the village and wartime activities. The church is still near the heart of the community. I was told that there is a regular community cinema and lots of other activities in the adjacent church hall.
