“OUTSTANDING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012 via mobile

The Pub has a welcoming atmosphere serving very good food and ale. The landlord Giles gives outstanding service to all who visit. We make this our first port of call when visiting the area.

“fab village pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

We should of been staying here but there was a mix up with our booking so we had to stay at another place which they recommended to us just up the road, so we went there to have a meal in the evening instead, the place is a lovely village pub and very friendly locals. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced a lovely menu and also a specials board with fresh local fish.We hope to go back and stay this time but would highly recomend it to anyone if only for the food.

“Fantastic food and great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

Six of us ordered different dishes from the main menu and the Specials boards. The staff were friendly and attentive and we couldn't fault any of the meals. The meals were all reasonably priced and there was a good selection, something for everyone. As well as tasting fantastic a lot of effort had gone into the presentation.

Looking forward to my next visit which I'm sure will be very soon.

“Good Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2012

A large group of us had lunch here, just before Christmas, and everyone commented afterwards on how much they had enjoyed their meal.

Staff were attentive and very efficient.

I had fish followed by a fruit crumble - all very tasty and I look foreward to going back very soon.

“Eat your heart out, "Gordon Ramsey"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2011

Found this by accident. Just off the Main Road near Brixham. Hidden away in the country side. WOW. an old fashioned village pub with fantastic food. It was Tuesday evening and Full . Full with locals. The food was excellent . Two Steaks for £20 and you get a free bottle of Wine. Decent wine too.
The gammon was locally reared. They Advertise home style cooking, No one can cook like that at home. and the presentation deserved a Michelin star.
I will be back.
You need to book in advance to guarentee a seat
I bet the B&B is good too!
