“Sunbeam Cottage = Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

I have recently spent 7 days living in Sunbeam Cottage with my Grandparents, Partner & my 3 month old Daughter. We had a great time stopping in Padstow. I have been many times before but instead of stopping in a BB or Cottage I have camped however with having a baby we decided to stay in a cottage and thank God we came across Sunbeam. Being situated in the heart of Padstow it was very convenient for us as my grandparents both suffer with walking difficulties we were less then 2 minutes away from the local spar & some shops plus Pubs, Restaurants & Cafes. The Cottage it self is very cosy, it has lots of character & is spotlessly clean. The Kitchen has some great appliances, it basically felt I was back at home. I would defiantly stop there again and I will be recommending Sunbeam to family & Friends. Even though the weather was very overcast we had a great time stopping at Sunbeam Cottage in Padstow.

Sunbeam Cottage was an absolute delight.

We decided to go away the week before Xmas and wanted somewhere near to Padstow harbour which is lovely and quiet out of season. The harbour looked fantastic with all of the Xmas lights in the water and in the shops – the children were thrilled.

Sunbeam Cottage is literally two minutes walk from the Spar for groceries and all of the other lovely pubs and shops around the harbour. It is also a ten minute walk from the beaches on the Camel estuary which are great for the kids to go exploring in the rocks and to play in the sand.

The cottage is perfect for a family of four – with a double en-suite room and a twin room for the children featuring its own on-suite shower and toilet.

The cottage is wonderfully warm and cosy – and has all amenities for a family within the kitchen/diner – including hob/oven, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, microwave – and well stocked cupboards full of utensils and crockery. The lounge is really comfortable and decorated in a traditional way with some lovely sea themed pictures and artefacts.

The landlady, Wendy, who lives opposite, was lovely and couldn’t do enough to help and assist us with the cottage and local information.

My girlfriend and I stayed at sunbeam cottage for 5 nights at the start of November, and what a find it was!

The cottage itself was ideal. The lounge was comfortable and very cozy. The kitchen was well equipped and a very reasonable size. The place was very tastefully decorated and light throughout, and there was plenty of space in the 2 bedrooms (and 2 bathrooms). We felt just the two of us really rattled around in there, and there was plenty of space for a family of 4.

Wendy was very helpful upon booking, and with advice on where to avoid parking charges.

The location was very hard to beat, literally a 2 minute stroll to the harbour.

not a bad word to say!

My mum and I stayed at Sunbeam Cottage with our two dogs at the beginning of September and we could not have asked for more comfortable and agreeable accommodation. The cottage offers a well equipped kitchen, warm, cosy lounge, comfortable bedrooms and is tastefully decorated throughout. It felt like a "home from home". It is only a "stones throw" from the harbour and shopping areas and is an ideal base for walking or just visiting the surrounding areas. I would thoroughly recommend staying here, you will have an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Dogs are welcome at the cottage

Stayed in Rick Steins St Petroc Hotel last which was lovely but why pay all that money when there is Sunbeam Cottage, which has everything you need for a week away in Padstow. It's really close to the harbour, shops and restaurants. Very comfortable and fully equipped.

Love this place and we have rebooked to go back to Sunbeam this coming April 2011. Superb location, a stones throw from Harbour. Ideal for access to Padstow restaurants (go to Margots in the same street if your like good food in unpretentious setting). Great walks from here on both sides of camel estuary.
Cottage is surprisingly spacious, well stocked and recently refurbished. Compared to other cottages locally, in a similar position, this represents good value and the owner Wendy is helpful and friendly (based mostly in her B&B accommodation just across the road).

This is our second year at Sunbeam cottage and it did not dissapoint. The cottage is warm, cosy, very tastefully furnished and has quality bedlinen and towels. The kitchen is well equiped although with so many lovely restaurants and pubs within walking distance not much cooking is required if you did not want to. Wendy ,the owner, can not do enough to make the stay a good one.
I can highly recommend Sunbeam cottage and also Padstow, I have never been anywhere quite so friendly.
