St Edmunds house is absolutely lovely - rooms are furnished and decorated in seaside colours with good quality furniture including a big comfy four poster bed, wooden floors and lots of little touches such as black and white photographs by a local artist. The bathroom was really large with the emphasis on quality again, with separate shower. Facilities in the room are good too, CD/DVD player with a fantastic surround sound system, well stocked minibar etc. The house has six rooms, three downstairs with terraces and three upstairs with french doors giving great views. Everything seems really thoughtfully planned out, and it was just a relaxing place to be. It is more expensive than the other Rick Stein accommodations on offer at the Restaurant or St Petrocs, but having stayed in The Seafood Restaurant Rooms, I much prefer the atmosphere of St Edmunds. It is fairly expensive at £245 per night, but this includes a lovely breakfast, and you really feel that your money has been well spent. I am going back next year, as it's one of the few places that justifies the long drive from my home. You can't beat Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant, and St Edmunds also has the same feeling of quality, modern comforts and understated elegance.
