“part of the crowd”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is a small and crowded cafe/restaurant but we found it very friendly and efficient indeed. The quality of its food makes it also very good value. We enjoyed a generous crab sandwich and red chowder and (even better!) what we both felt was the best carrot cake we'd ever tasted. If we lived in Padstow, we'd be part of the crowd, too!

“Amazing service, food, and ambiance. A gem in Padstow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We were looking for somewhere that did breakfasts, and found all the places around the harbour were charging much the same for much the same stuff. We found this place quite by accident. I always thought they only sold ice creams. How wrong I was! They have a wonderful menu - great breakfasts, lots of choice and some new (non-standard Padstow) things - like pancakes, eggs how you want them. They also had a fabulous looking lunch menu (though we didn't actually eat lunch there). Reasonable prices, great service from people that clearly care about their clientele. Everyone who was in having breakfast on our first day, were in the following days - it clearly gets repeat business because it's so good. Well done you, keep up the good work.

“Keeping the locals happy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

I've always found it a nightmare to find somewhere to get a nice quick bite in Padstow, that's not a pasty or fish and chips.

So it's nice to find somewhere that's open all year round, and has lovely staff.

We only had a sandwich, panini, and teas but the size and quality were excellent.

Tregothnan teas as standard is always a good.

Although I do feel if they lost a table it would open up a bit more space, as it did feel a little cramped.

Will definitely be back again.

“Marvellous Mackerel Pate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Taken here by dad-in-law and it was just lovely. Not very big but very accommodating. Hubby and dad-in-law had the chowder which was delish and i had the pate. Coffee and tea were both spot on. Very pleasant staff and delish homemade cakes. EXTREMELY good value for money. Shame its not on our doorstep but then again prob a good thing its not cus think we would take up residence!!
