We have just returned this morning from our fourth visit to the Molesworth, (five night stay) and I have to say our experience was far removed from the previous reviews! And we were there on the nineteenth! Allow me to give you a true insight as I see it, and if you look at my other reviews you will see I always aim to be fair. It appears some of these people stayed during the Cornwall show when the entire town is in party mode, and there are many thousands of people converging on the local area, so obviously noise and hog roasts abound, and this is the town centre, so there will always be some noise at the weekend during the evening. Yes they do have entertainment at the weekend, and there is noise from below, but we have never heard it after midnight, and it does show on their website about the music events. It is very quiet during the daytime. We are both retired, ( in case you thought we were youngsters) As for the stale smells, it is simply untrue. Although this is a very old building, it is really clean. The cleaners work their socks off to maintain high standards. I feel sure they will be very upset by the unkind comments. The rooms are fresh and bright, and the beds are spotlessly clean with beautiful white linen. The food is outstanding and all freshly cooked, we enjoyed freshly caught trout from the river Camel which is about two hundred yards from the Hotel. You can't ask for better than that. We met a chef from Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant enjoying lunch with his wife, he told us he regularly ate here, now there's a compliment to them. All the management and staff do their utmost to please, and are so friendly and welcoming. Of course if you want to avoid the music nights, stay Sunday- Wednesday, we have stayed at different times and simply enjoyed the overall experience. The local people are really interesting ( lots of characters and really friendly) We have met many other guest who wouldn't stay anywhere else in Wadebridge, and I believe it is the only Hotel in town with any parking at all, and it's free. So if you need a space, try to arrive early. There seems to be room for around fifteen vehicle, which is a real bonus in such a small Cornish town. Try parking in some of the nearby places such as Port Isaac and you will see what I mean. Incidently, the inclusive continental breakfast is really lovely, with freshly baked pastries and croissants, frest fruit salad, eggs, cheeses, carved ham, cereals, toast and yoghurts. They do a huge cooked breakfast at a supplement, and that is extremely popular with the local people who come in to eat. The hotel has undergone a great deal of refurbishment since we were last there in November, try the new Zoo cocktail Bar and he Zoo lounge, they serve the most wonderful homemade food in there too. It has something for everyone, and I have no hesitation in giving it my highest recommendation. Many thanks to both Management and staff for a wonderful stay.
