“An OK option”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

Good service and reasonable food. Surroundings are ok although seats were a bit uncomfortable. By no means a bad meal but theres better italian food in North Berwick.

“Lovely food in a relaxed atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

Bella Italia's revamp has given it a lovely fresh and relaxed Mediterranean feel. What hasn't changed at all is the excellent food and the cheerful, friendly, professional service.

Most of our party had pizza and were delighted but I had a wonderful Ravioli ai Porcini. The portion size was perfect and this restaurant always provides great value for money. Wicked desserts too!

Highly recommended. I really like this place!

“nothing to write home about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

friends and family booked a table for 7.30. We were seated straight away, drinks were taked at least 20 mins later.we know it was busy but they needed more staff to serve tables. It took untill 8.45 before our table had starters and the garlic mushrooms were dull and tasteless.Mains were ok but nothing to talk about and we would have struggled with a sweet as we finished at 10 which was a shame as one person needed to get a train.

“Family Friendly, good staff, good food, good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Me and my partner have eaten here regularly for the last 8 years. i have NEVER been served burnt food, i have NEVER been overcharged, i have NEVER had a complaint about the service. This is a family run restaurant, and has been for 20+ years. Excellent pizza and pasta, proper servings, steak to die for. Remember, people, this is a little town by the sea - not some huge sprawling metropolis. Yes, there are other italian restaurants nearby, one which is also a wine bar (Zitto), and another which is much higher in price and quality (osteria). That still doesn't take anything away from Bella Italia. Yes, the pizza can have 'burnt' spots on it, as may the calzone. This is because they make it by hand, fresh, and then cooked in a proper pizza oven. If you want cheap deals, more sauce than pasta, or food that can never be burnt, stay home, buy from tesco and eat horse. it is that simple.

Now that Bella Italia have had their re-fit, sensitive types can no longer blame a mediocre night on the decor. I am not anything to do with Bella Italia, and i don't work in the restaurant trade, so no bias here.

Good value, great people, excellent food. what more can you ask for?
