“Rude barmaid”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We found this pub by accident on travelling through the village one evening and stopped for a drink. Very friendly barman and spent an enjoyable hour chatting to the barman and a couple of friendly local people. We decided to return a couple of evenings later to have a meal. The food was good but there was an older lady behind the bar this time (a Friday evening) who was extremely unfriendly and at times just downright rude. She was only interested in serving the local people and ignored us as long as she could. When I went to pay she huffed and puffed as I gave her a debit card and after a few tries threw my card back at me as she said she had no signal so I couldn't pay by card. Luckily one of our group had cash for us to pay as I do not know how we would have paid otherwise as there are no cash machines nearby. Nice pub, food ok but would not return as this woman was so unpleasant.

Very friendly people , great food . Warham is a lovely quite village with a lot of history . The pub and B&B are great old buildings that have been converted very well to make this buisness .

Thank You all for a great relaxing weekend

We have visited this pub several times over the last few years the food has always been very good . This visit was no exception I had pork & sage pie and my partner had lamb and garlic both came with a good selection of fresh veg & new potato's we have never left feeling hungry. Good value for money good pub atmosphere service ok.

This is quite a quirky pub full of mainly domestic artefacts from the mid 20th century, most of which are quite interesting. The menu is unashamedly pies & puddings, home made with vegetables & boiled potatoes. The service is not always as friendly & welcoming as you might wish but it did not spoil the evening for us.

I have visited this pub on numerous occasions and had some really great food, but I won't be visiting again. The pies are beautiful, just like mum used to make was what we described it as and you certainly don't go away hungry. That's were the excellence ended. I think the waitress should be taught manners and if they don't want to be there don't be. We were served by an older lady who virtually threw our meals down on the table with my husband nearly wearing his, cutlery slammed in front. This was very disappointing as we have had some lovely food here.

When you walk into this place its like you turned the clock back to about 1930. A tiny bar area where they still serve ale right from the barrel. The food is great, homemade, with lots of different traditional pies, like steak and kidney, minty lamb, pork and stilton, game pie, etc. All dishes come with a pile of potatoes and steamed veg, and with their puddings they bring you a whole jug of custard. Tip - always order off the blackboard rather than off the menu book, we have found the food to be somewhat fresher. Another nice feature with their food is NO FRIED items, so if you are one of these people who have to have their daily trough of chips ( and there are loads of them in England) you may be disappointed. We always come here every year with friends when we're in Norfolk.

I have visited a number of times and the atmosphere and food are very traditional. The food has always been excellent as has the beer. Yes the service can be a bit brisk but its a small pub and they are always busy. If you a gastropub experience this is not the place for you. If you want a quaint quiet 'proper'pub with traditional food and excellent local beers, then this is for you.
