Lovely building, pleasant staff but emphasis put upon kitch displays of 1950s stuff. Now this may be interesting for some people but has no relevance to the town's maritime history, which seems to take a poor second place to this junk.
We went on the Heritage open day so expected to see this building at its best. It was dusty and dirty and the exhibits, skirting boards and stairs were covered in dust and dirt. This gives a very poor impression to visitors to the town. Again it has parallels with the nearby King's Lynn Arts Centre which has plenty of people showing people around: but no one, it seems, is willing to pick up a duster!
