4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

Stayed at Congham a couple of weeks ago and I was really impressed with the quality of the hotel, it is modern but in a homely, warm boutique-y way.
The sense and feeling of being in the middle of no-where really adds to the Spa relax feel - I can imagine it is beautiful in the summer for long walks in the grounds but it was just as gorgeous in the cold misty mornings.

The food was delicious and the menu covered a real variety to suit all customer needs, which being a fussy eating is definitely a plus! I had chicken which was real soft and tender which is really rare as chicken can really dry out but was by far the best chicken meal I have had in a long while.
Breakfast the following morning was really yummy - pancakes at 08.00 in the morning what more could a girl ask for!

My only real fault is that you don't have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, you have to order with reception (free of charge) and they bring this to the room for you. I do drink alot of tea and I felt bad calling reception all the time for cups of tea so in the end only had 2 and not my usual evening one as it was late and I felt really bad.
I personally think it makes more sense to have this facility in the room especially if the service is free anyway.

A real touch was the fact that they have dvd players in the room and a wide selection of films to choose from in the library.
Nothing better than a lovely treatment and then a lie down on the snuggly bed in your robe watching bridget jones before getting ready for dinner.

The spa is brand new pretty much and is really gorgeous with a wide choice of facilities including an outdoor hottub!

The perfect venue for couples - if you are celebrating an anniversary or a birthday or just want a special weekend away together this is the place!

Room Tip: Snowdrop - one of the Garden Suites is a little home away from home and has a real holiday feel at t...

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay with us, we are delighted to see that you appreciated the warm and homely feel we have here. We are pleased to say that the installation of the new room ‘larders’ is now well under way and that most of the Garden Bedrooms now have them fitted and the main house ones will follow shortly. You needn’t have felt bad about asking for more tea – we would happily bring it for you. We hope to welcome back to Congham before too long.

My husband and I stayed at Congham Hall Hotel for two nights. The staff were really welcoming and the Garden room was great value. We had a couple of treatments in the spa, which were very good and the food was lovely. I would highly recommend Congham Hall for a relaxing and romantic break for two.

Our daughter had a small wedding at Congham Hall and we were thoroughly impressed with the service for such an intermit wedding. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were excellent, the hotel was very warm and welcoming and the food was fantastic. We were made to feel to welcome by everyone who dealt with us. We all stayed over in lovely rooms and the breakfast was first class. Would definitely recommend for a similar occasion or just for a meal. Thank you to all involved.

My wife and I have just returned from a two night stay at Congham Hall. We were impressed from arrival to departure by the friendly and helpful staff, fabulous food and rooms. On arrival we were upgraded from a Best Garden room to a suite. The suite was on the first floor with a separate lounge area and balcony overlooking the grounds. Although we liked the room we asked to be moved into a Best Garden room for our second night as we were keen to try the monsoon shower. We spent a good few hours in the superb Spa and treated ourselves to a treatment when we were again impressed by the professionalism the staff. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable couple of days. Thank you to all the staff.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are modern with a terrace area whilst rooms within the main house are more traditional.

Went to Congham Hall for dinner on saturday evening. The restaurant itself is elegant without being too formal. It was quite busy in the dining room but nothing seemed rushed and there wasnt any long waits between courses. The food was lovely and was well presented.

A few small let downs were that there was no amuse bouch or petit fours. For a restaurant which seems to be striving for michelin standards and definately not far from michelin prices one or both of these would have been a nice touch to compliment the meal.
Secondly, the wating staff were all well presented but for my taste I thought the restaurant manager was too casually dressed and perhaps should be wearing a suit.

On the whole Congham Hall is a lovely place to dine out and plan to go back in the future.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write about your recent dinner here. I am not sure what constitutes striving for Michelin standards. We are included in the Michelin guide, although don’t aspire to gain a star and we like to think our menu pricing offers good value. For example, you can enjoy three courses for dinner for around £30 a head. Our coffee is indeed served with petit fours and I’m sorry if this wasn’t the case when you dined. We are pleased to see that none- the-less you enjoyed your evening with us and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

I had decided not to review Congham Hall Hotel, because sometimes the best kept secret is best kept.
However, the staff were so helpful, relaxed , friendly and professional , if you can possibly believe that combination, I felt it mean not to commend them.
Since we last stayed there two years ago, new owners have upgraded a faded country house charm, removed the worn sofas, and the cat, the dreadful carpet in the dining room, painted and improved all the rooms, created a stunning new bar, improved the House rooms, and finished the Spa. They have kept the log fires, the informal reception area, the fantastic stairs which are an architectural gem, the authentic creaky floors in the old house, the groundfloor garden rooms, the hot tub on the deck and the tropical storm showers, and the best steam room ever. 26 rooms, 23 tables in the dining room, top notch chef, the food was really excellent, and this on a quiet winter Sunday.
So what would you like to know?
Complimentary newspaper, and bottled water, morning tea brought to your room, or tea making facilities if you preferred, big choice of pillows, dvd player, large screen TV, library of good books, and films, and games. Choice of lounge areas, each with its own fire, very comfortable chairs, undoubtedly the best breakfast choice we have ever had in a hotel, we sampled the afternoon tea, and coffee, evening meal, were impressed by the wine list being presented on an Ipad left with us to scroll through, we were made to feel nothing was too much trouble. It is the sort of place where I would not expect to be told to " enjoy" . though I think I detected it once, although I am sure he was only teasing!
Full marks and thanks for cleaning my windscreen.

Room Tip: Traditional House rooms are all upstairs, garden rooms easyaccess and contemporary.
