“First Christmas Lunch of the year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Our local Art Group held their annual Christmas lunch here today and considering that there were over 30 of us we all had a delicious hot meal, expertly served by a friendly staff. Yummy!

“a decent pie!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

We stumbled across this place a short while ago after being diverted from the A149 due to an accident. We ordered our food which turned up in good time.I had the steak pie with veg and my wife had the gammon which i had to say were both thoroughly enjoyed by us.The portions were of a decent size too.The place is quite nice internally with an ample sized car park too..An accidental find but a good one at that.

“Good food, bit slow.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

I visited the Carpenters Arms yesterday, having driven past it for years. We were looking for a carvery, but decided on The Carpenters Arms whether it did a carvery or not. On entering, the bar is all very nice, but with a look of being a plastic pub, all very good looking, but with no depth to it (a bit like walking into someones living room, with a bar in the corner). However, it is ok. We sat in the restaurant part and ordered the beef and a veggie option (one of 2 on the veggie board). After waiting for approximately 20 minutes the meals came. They looked delicious, however the veggie was the wrong meal. It can't be too hard to get it right, they did have a 50/50 chance after all! Anyway, all this said, I must add that the food was nice. Over all, will I be returning (which I feel is always the mark of a good place)? In short, no! Would I recommend it? Not really, unless I didn't like the person I was talking to!

“Nightmare on the A47”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

80th Birthday party for an old soldier who preferred ARMY rations. We had a family and friends celebration, the staff and the table settings were great, the food however let it down big time, one of our party had ordered a steak as several of our party had, they were not asked how they wanted them cooked and this steak arrived very well done, she asked if it could be taken back to the kitchen and swapped for a rare steak and was told no !!!!! Very very disappointed in the food, a family member who is a vegi commented that this was the worst food she had ever encountered in a pub, sorry guys but this was not good enough and we won't be revisiting this establishment!!!! one very disappointed customer.
